He definitely shouldn’t be receiving death threats, but I don’t think there’s an issue with him being perceived as racist when he did a blatantly racist thing. There’s no way as a journalist in 2023 you aren’t aware that using a monkey to respond to something about a black person will get taken as racism. He probably knew but just didn’t care or didn’t think that the backlash would be this big, like @Chipdiz1 said

If I’m going to shoot the writer any bail, I kind of felt like he was making fun of how Abel was styled for the show or something, rather than outright being racist but he still had to know and might have just been straight up racist too
