botYou don’t just upscale the video. You remaster it frame by frame. It’s not true 4K but not any different from most 4K movies you can get on blu ray now. They use the same trick to enhance 2K footage to 4K. The quality is higher quality without loosing any details from the original. Technology is wild in 2020

Due to the sharpening of 1080 images, they will be SLIGHTLY different (I think you’ll only notice if you have a 1080 and a 2160 image side by side), I don’t think about it at all when watching the 2160p footage

I think it'll be complete in a week 2 weeks max, I'm just not yet sure how I'll 'release' it

It's ~ 49,500 frames, and every frame takes 5 seconds to upscale ... 68 hours / 2,9 days of just exporting

A week or two
In theory, you could do this for most performances (some just don't have enough bitrate to be upscaled to for example 4K, and the results are better if the video is progressive and not interlaced), I'm also going to do it with music videos. If you wan't to collab on further projects, I'm open to it!
