I read a comment somewhere about how this is actually a meta commentary on binging tv shows and when you finish a series you “leave that world behind”
The daughter’s whole goal being to watch the final episode of Friends and that ending plays into said person’s theory. There was more to it but I’d have to go find the comment to explain it better
Not sure how much I buy into that but it was an interesting viewpoint on the movie I thought I’d share
I think the commentary surrounding the daughter is that, she doesn't care that the world may be ending all she wants to do is disappear into her show.
So to say people today don't care about the world as long as they can shut off at the end of the day.
People are numb through their entertainment

Yeah I’ve been trying to figure out what it was with her. Then it cuts to her actually binging all that food.

@ilgnd Ok I thought the comment I read was saying Esmail was trying to make a statement about how binging a series isn’t the right way to watch but I think I misread it. How you guys explained it actually makes sense and I can see he most likely was going for that kind of commentary.
Especially with the daughter’s comments of never being heard by her family she felt like her only friends were the characters in Friends
it still sucked and my point still stands. what now?
I agree it wasn’t a good movie. Your point doesn’t really have any legs to stand on tho

There might be something to the binge angle too.
I just noticed that there seemed to be some apathy in the girl about what was going on.

What did you think about all the animals? Was it just as they said in the movie that animals tend to notice when s***s about to hit the fan before humans do and were just trying to warn them but humans have become so untrusting they saw them as a threat?

Now the animals I have no idea. I didn't pick up anything myself that all just seemed random asf to me.

they mentioned that the birds migration pattern flipped due to the radiation iirc. probably why the deer / flamingos were acting up too

Ok, yeah I missed that
I remember Myha'la character comparing it to when dogs know a storm is coming and that’s what stuck with me

Or when you binge a show you leave the world behind cus you’re so consumed with that s***
Sorry— no spoilers. Doesn’t affect the movie. My favorite show of all time too.
there are 4 links to robot: ecorp computer, beach towel, 5/9 kit + mention of the Jersey power plant
I missed that gotta peep this again soon now

The deers were so cute
ngl this movie growing on me the more I think about it.
ending pissed me off at first but I enjoyed my experience watching this joint
Watching this as if it’s part of the Mr. Robot universe really enhanced this for me ngl
All it took was a dance for shorty to start considering another man’s d***. Ain’t no way boy
Hmm. Just finished this. It’s alright. First thoughts are; this is a movie to watch with friends, your girl etc. One of them type of movies where you’re talking s***, asking questions like wwyd type s***.
The ending felt ok but sorta deflated. Kinda like they didn’t know exactly how to wrap it up. I’m not mad at the ending though, just felt like there could’ve been an extra 5-10 minutes for the ending. I like that things aren’t ever really fully explained, the sense of not really knowing for sure what’s going on was a feeling prevalent through out the movie, keeps you engaged. It’s also realistic in that sense I imagine. If some s*** like this was to occur fr, I expect a lot more misinformation to be disseminated.
Overall I’d say it was pretty entertaining. Might rewatch to see if I missed anything. I watched the first season of Mr Robot when it came out. 2nd season I missed one episode and just never picked it up again

Mr Robot Season 2 is honestly not the best, but please pick it up again because Season 3 and 4 are some of the best television out there. Please strongly consider watching them two seasons, they are so damn good.

season 2 of mr robot > season 1
season 2 of mr robot > season 1
It's off-putting so I understand why some people hate it
