Kinda mystified by some of the promotional f***ups on Republic's end tbh.
Weeknd has had a very successful era so it doesn't really matter but the timing for music videos and promo has been really off this era. Blinding Lights went without a music video for months, yet In Your Eyes got one a few days after the album came out and it was immediately sent to radio which was obviously jumping the gun.

In your eyes is way too similar to BL and BL is still getting spins on radio
BL’s video was held off bc they waited around the album release to push it to #1
but IYE’s was released bc they thought a video + album release hype would make it pop immediately
