Weeknd may have did it before Uzi but it wasnt such a huge moment as EA, where the deluxe was significantly better than the actual album
i just count it as a dif project cuz i listened to it by itself a lot.
great project
I love this guy
I always ignore them, nigga gone drope a deluxe a year later and expect you to think it's a new sound. Q and Vince are some of the realest rappers
Idk I don’t mind this trend really. Bonus tracks are cool, and I don’t have a problem mentally separating them from the main body of work
probably makes more sense for bigger artists, he isnt wrong but at schoolboys level and the people he targets it really doent make much sense.....especially when you drop so rarely to begin with
That whole trend of dropping a whole separate album and calling it a deluxe was so lame.
Uzi was the only one to pull it off tastefully
Baby Keem did it well. Released a deluxe a year after the album came out with a short movie.

OK this works sometimes, patience interlude and the uzi feature go hard I sequenced them into the album

the world needed 2 alive geek pack
100% agree
where would we be without big tonka, kan't relax, and luv money?
I also think LUVTW2 was a great project
Tyler's Call Me If You Get Lost Estate Sale was really dope as well
some artists put alot into their craft and it justifies a deluxe / new music soon after that could stand alone as its own body of work
but most people just throw out some tracks that they didn't really like enough to put on the actual project in an attempt to inflate sales / mask a lack of hype
I don’t mind a deluxe, however niggas doing it 3-4 days after their album release, straight b******ization of your own art
its just a product to a lot of musicians tbh
and that's the unemotional way people tend to view it when the thing that was once a passion becomes the way they pay the bills

Uzi was probably the worst offender lol. Uzi started the trend and announced it a couple days after EA dropped due to the bad reception and had the fans pick what songs they want and called it a sequel.
Artists will always say that the deluxe is for the fans, but it’s just a ploy to try and get your album to the #1 spot for a second week

Deluxe tracks aren’t canon I just ignore them every time
Oxymoron a prime example ironically. Amazing album but all the deluxe songs are trash
Yep. Never listen to them. The only album I’ve made an exception for is Watch the Throne

F*** LA & Grooveline Pt. 2 ft. Suga Free was heat tho
Song with SZA was cheeks tho
The way Interscope marketed the deluxe versions of Oxymoron for the iTunes version (Yay Yay, Gravy) and Target version (Pusha Man, Californication (ft. Rocky) was stupid as f*** basically said if the fans wanted those bonus songs they needed to buy the album 3x FOH
