The way Interscope marketed the deluxe versions of Oxymoron for the iTunes version (Yay Yay, Gravy) and Target version (Pusha Man, Californication (ft. Rocky) was stupid as f*** basically said if the fans wanted those bonus songs they needed to buy the album 3x FOH
They did the same with GKMC
That whole trend of dropping a whole separate album and calling it a deluxe was so lame.
Uzi was the only one to pull it off tastefully
shawny binladen did it like 3 times and it was fire each time
Deluxe versions and bonus tracks been a thing forever. The "deluxe" versions we get these days though are more or less what EPs and/or mixtapes used to be.
This is a good way to put it thank you
Sure it’s being used as a streaming ploy but I don’t get how it’s a scam. In the same way q doesn’t want to add bullshit to his album for extra streams, doesn’t mean other artists are scamming just bc they have extra songs they want to put out
I usually dislike alternative versions of albums like Target edition, Japanese edition, etc. They need to be definitive works, like THIS IS THE ALBUM. PERIOD.
How was it better when every deluxe would have different tracks depending where you bought it from? Still a ploy

I think he's using scam in the context of them trying to scam the streaming system numbers wise

I bought all 3 versions too I remember listening in the Target parking lot
cant be worse than the night core version, slowed revered version sped up version etc 21 savage and french montana are doing
that’s even worse in my opinion
dont see how a 2-3 song deluxe is a scam
now a 10+ song deluxe? absolutely
How is more music a scam

People just like to complain nowadays.

its not different at all

It should have stopped with him cause it made sense. They were all loosies or snippets built up with his old sound and feature heavy list of artists
huh? this was the biggest scam of them all. literally a cynical ploy to get you to buy the same $25 CD at 4 different retailers.
Okay? That's what gives it value. And it's like they never were uploaded later on YouTube or streaming.

It’s a scam of time to listen to barely finished demos that get released just to try and get a meaningless number 1 record

if I can get all the music online for free how does it give it "value"
or do you mean at resale? because I promise you none of those "target exclusive editions" of any CD that got sold in 2005 is worth jack s*** today.

The novelty was fun to collect as a fan when I was younger. That also depends on the package of the album. Tyler is a god example of that.
He’s right, but who cares if the music is good. Sometimes artists leave off some of their best tracks so whatever excuse allows me to hear them is cool.
