Literally use a laptop for movies/shows, browsing the internet and occasionally will do invoices/quotes for work on my personal laptop if for whatever reason I need to do one without the business laptop being around. What do you guys recommend?

Are you completely set of it being a Macbook? I think there's some great chromebooks out there that will do what you're looking for just as well if not better. But with that said, get the Air if you're totally set on a Macbook.

Kind of yeah, I've never had one been using a HP throughout my teens years and now, always wanted a Mac

Air, you don’t really need anything high spec for what you plan on doing

You should just get a chrome book ngl. But if you must get a MacBook get the cheapest one. Not a Mac hater but they not really needed for this purpose

I got a 13 inch Mid 2012 Macbook Pro, replaced harddrive with a 2 TB SSD, s*** runs brand new. I can code, watch p***, torrent, etc all at once and no lag :)

Best model tbh has a CD/DVD player, all ports, etc

why not just get a certified refurbished (by Apple) baseline macbook pro? Should run you around 1000 which is basically a new macbook air

the air would be fine for those tasks and the battery will be better than the pro

unless you want some weird config I usually just stick with refurbs, you get defect warranty for a year like you would with a normal mac

It really depends on your needs.

Get the Air if you're just using it for just browsing, hw, music, netflix, etc. 13" Base MacBook Pro can just about the same.

Get a MacBook Pro 15" if you're planning to do Design, Video Editing, UX, 3D and all other professional needs.

But then again, you can do all those on the Air/13" MBP just the performance wise may vary and potential botlleneck.

  • Oct 30, 2019

they don't sell a pro without it now
also before if you bought the one without the touchbar you got a dual core cpu that's a lot like the cpu in the air lol, it's really a totally different machine
would be trash if you wanted to do things that are cpu intensive
they only have 4 core, 6 core and 8 core pros now tho
