yeah imagine buying some 5-6lb laptop with terrible battery life and a rgb logo/keyboard cause it "games on the go"

I barely game at home lol, I'd rarely ever use it for that would just be heavy and have worse battery

Well the 15inch sucks, the 16 inch is supposedly bringing many improvements. There’s plenty to be excited about if you’re already heavily invested into that ecosystem tbh.
Me personally I’m excited about a new keyboard, higher ram options and better cooling so the i9 is actually viable.

I wish Apple would make a ryzen based mac but Apple to busy tryna make its own laptop cpu like we asked for that...

  • neon

they don't sell a pro without it now
also before if you bought the one without the touchbar you got a dual core cpu that's a lot like the cpu in the air lol, it's really a totally different machine
would be trash if you wanted to do things that are cpu intensive
they only have 4 core, 6 core and 8 core pros now tho

    You're not wrong lol

  • I just recently upgraded from the 2015 pro to the 2016 pro, just bc I wanted the touchbar really. The improved space and cores r cool too. But from waht ur describing, just get a new air

Oh there’s definitely stuff to be excited for but I don’t understand when people are interesting in buying the 13 inch models why people bring up the 16inch like that price range was even a consideration for them

That’ll be cool... in like 10 years. It would be nice if they just went all AMD already

yes would be incredible but they have got to have some kinda deal with intel though for cpus, i know they have a deal with amd for gpus

also it's dumb that they don't have some kinda desktop with normal cooling, like a smaller pro with none server grade parts would be such a logical pick for intensive work loads but there only desktop like that has ecc ram and the most expensive cpus on the market when those kinds of parts give you almost the same performance outside of a few nice to have features (comparing i9 to 8core xeon) and a few % speeds from better chip binning

server parts double the production cost

i think apple is just waiting till they can go full arm based and ditch intel

cop one of the older ones that you can still open up and modify, change the ram, hard drives, GPU, whatever. still run like brand new. the newer ones you can't do that

How is it awful advice? Paying $350 for a laptop to spend a further $100 and have it to the same spec as a current model is great advice lmfao.

The concept is saving money, especially considering apples price point for laptops has always been laughable.

Buying a laptop that’ll stop getting updates in a year or probably already has is awful advice my friend
