I personally don’t get why someone who is half one and half another should claim that they’re one. For example, an Asian-Mexican claiming to be Mexican.. i don’t really understand that. You’re not just Mexican.
Now if you grew up in a household where your Mexican heritage was a big staple I can understand. But simply growing up in a home where neither race is important, just doesn’t make sense to me. How do y’all feel? I’m black btw.
black people embrace me, whites dont
always feel out of place when visiting my white side of the family, that being said i really only met them at like 15 so theres that too

I agree
they should claim both cultures because that is who they are.
Or neither if they don't care
the idea that you can grow up and not be affected by race/culture is ridiculous
in your example if they’re not mexican enough and not asian enough then the f*** are they supposed to claim
I find it funny that majority of the time half asian half white people always claim their white side if theyre attractive and their asian side if theyre ugly lol. Something i noticed a lot seeing these girls on dating apps
Edit: but i guess it makes sense since the asian parent that married their white spouse looks like the self hating/self loathing type🤔
lol? you dont have to claim a side white people already did that for you
You can’t act like people don’t do what i’m talking about. this is a big thing, especially now a days. There’s so many mixed kids growing up not understanding who they are or just claiming they’re something they don’t really know about or have real toes to.
edit: if that’s what you’re doing. i may have misunderstood you

it’s not about being “enough”. it’s about who you really are and why you get to just claim something that you aren’t. If you’re biracial, you’re not a single race. You’re both that’s why it’s called being BI racial.
Seems like you should be happy to claim both races instead of acting like you’re only one. You aren’t. Is that not facts?
Idk but Idgaf about the supposed “mixed struggle”
I mean, there is a struggle but it is in no way as hard as being a single race that is associated with the obvious hardships.

so what are you saying? That you claim to be black because your black family likes you more?
edit: you’re always gonna feel out of place around white folk if you’re not just white. that’s just the way it is.
they should claim both cultures because that is who they are.
that’s how i feel. rep both! if not, you must be ashamed of something.
Society claims it for them depending on what they look like
You look like Logic? You're white. You look like J Cole? You're black

- BRAVEnot really. They put it on themselves. Society calls them mixed..they call themselves whatever they feel comfortable with. And i struggle with that for the reasons i listed above. Cole calls himself a black man. we didn’t start that. logic calls himself mixed. we call him white or mixed. that goes back to my point on who claims who as what.
