Idk about banned but it’s hard for me to see any possible benefit with intertwining basic education with archaic traditions and beliefs

what religious schools teach:

• lying is bad.
• stealing is bad.
• backbiting/gossip is bad.
• hear both sides before coming to a determination.

Regardless, I guess what came to mind for me is how a science class would function under an abrahamic religious school. How are they gonna teach kids in 2023 that the earth is 10,000 years old and humans walked alongside dinosaurs?

I get what you’re saying with some of the moral stuff though, I can see how they’d put a much heavier emphasis on that than a public school. On the flip side of that though, you’re gonna be getting some unsavory “values” sprinkled in there as well in the form of anti-lgbt rhetoric and other stuff like that.

I don’t think it’s fair to group all abrahamic religious together since they’re all different. Not to mention the different sects among them. Young earth creationism is not a thing in Islam for example. I take your point though

There is a verse that states how the heavens & the earth were once concentrated together and separated apart, which does sound eerily similar to the big bang theory. Overall it doesn’t explicitly confirm or deny it.

Quran is the guide for a good life. Sadly many people dont understand religion or do any reading anymore

I went to a Catholic high school despite no one in my family or ancestry being Catholic and I have mixed thoughts on the topics. On one hand, the curriculum itself was way above that of public schools esp in terms of math and science. On the other hand, the social landscape was an absolute s***show, quality (and qualifications!) of teachers GREATLY varied, and the administration was blatantly corrupt among other things. Public schools face similar issues but at least in theory can be brought under more direct scrutiny, whereas private schools kind of dodge this despite retaining many of the worst aspects of the school system. Politically/religiously, the school wasn’t as egregious as you may think honestly, but this differs on a school to school basis; as I understand some religious schools are basically cults, where others (like mine luckily) were essentially just schools connected to a diocese. In general the only real thing I’ll say about those complaining about politics in private schools is that if you don’t think the same (if not worse) happens in public schools, you’re ill-informed, and that’s legit w taxpayer money too.
