    Some of yall so confused.

Make an old school subsection or something

How about you let things evolve and change instead of living in the past

No. Genres and subgenres are easy ways to find other stuff you might like. That's it. They're convenient. No reason to abandon them because they aren't perfectly descriptive.

I see what you're saying OP, modern popular rap or "trap" is so detached from what we would traditionally call Hip Hop why do we keep it in that umbrella? But I think since it still shares its foundations from Hip-Hop and it can trace its roots from there, I think it would be better to label it a subgenre. It's like how Metal is very different from Rock n Roll's early form but it still shares its roots/culture so it's still under that umbrella.

    Hip hop is cancelled.

Kinda but I don’t agree. I don’t wanna hear dust all day

  • Jul 18, 2020

There's literally nothing wrong with having an own genre BTW.

Sonically that s*** ain't the same, the fanbase ain't the same either outside of music forums.

It's not destroyed, it's just completely different.
