This is a bad argument. Every genre evolves over time. For instance, Rock music now doesn’t sound like it did when it first started but that doesn’t mean it’s not rock. There are six different eras of classical music where the rhythm and timbre drastically changed through each period. Same case can be made for electronic music, etc.
