U think organic meat is detrimental to health?
In the relative sense for certain nutrients, yeah, but there isn't really much evidence to support a large absolute difference between organic meat and regular meat, and I don't think any compelling health reason to eat either
replace 'veganism' with 'being kind to animals' and suddenly all the arguments against it sound pretty f***in dumb if you ask me
like its so f***in easy to just not eat them i dont get it
What should we do about the awful and disgusting predators in the animal kingdom who also eat meat? Maybe we should tell lions and tigers they’ve been on the wrong side of history as well

yes lets tell obligate carnivores that have sentience but NOT sapience to eat a carrot
you absolute clown
we dont need meat, factory farming is horrible for the planet, and we know better than to be cruel to animals so its really just that simple

i just have to imagine they're trolling and that they dont actually believe this s***
not even starting with this bottom tier bad faith argument sorry bruv
I wasn’t arguing, it was a question

Huh? Keto diet has been shown to reverse neurodegenerative diseases for one. That would include a lot of meat

well to sincerely answer your question plants do not have a central nervous system and show no evidence of being able to suffer or feel pain in the way we can and animals can
and even if they had some rudimentary sensory organs that we somehow haven't discovered yet it makes economical and environmental sense to eat a plant based diet
it takes approximately 400 gallons of water, 13 pounds of grain/feed, and 65 square feet of land to "grow" a quarter pound of beef. It is incredibly resource intensive to raise cattle. The numbers are less intensive for pigs, even less for chickens, but considering we kill over 30 billion chickens every year it doesn't really mean they're better.
Not to mention the primary driver of deforestation in the amazon rainforest and African rainforests is to make room to grow soy to feed to cattle and for more grazing pasture.
It's unsustainable in every way to feed meat to 8 billion people. Something has to change.

Good points
Wouldn’t a plant based diet for everyone still destroy a lot of natural environment for growing crops & the water it takes for that too?

It would take less resources overall because so much of our current land is devoted to monocropping plants like soy or corn which is then fed straight to animals instead of humans. If we diversified our crops more and fed them straight to humans we would actually have a enormous overabundance of food. Enough to support billions more people.

It probably should be,but eating strictly a vegan diet where I live is impossible, too expensive.
Maybe in a few decades sure.
Rn it cant be the standard everywhere in the world

curious how the staples for a developing nation are cheap vegan foods but somehow its too expensive where you live

Idk if you're trying to be snarky or whatever, but I live in a third world country/transitioning to second world.
Its much cheaper to eat meat out here, and every single traditional food involves meat in some way, whether it's a stake, ground beef, chicken whatever.
The price to eat strictly vegan is much bigger, and our pay is atrocious countrywide,so I dont blame people who eat meat.

Nah was being serious because usually meat is more expensive in those places and cheaper in 1st world countries due to the subsidies. Like blows my mind that you're saying rice, beans, and vegetables are more expensive than meat but if thats how it is then thats how it is. Wild.
