I saw an interview with you, with @YoungNastyShawty, in which you talked about wanting to move past trauma with your music, putting too much depression into your songs. Would you say you succeeded with Excelsior?

Maybe? It's kind of too soon to tell. I mean, I know that I feel good. So I feel better than I did when I was making prior record. So I guess, yeah. Definitely. Writing New Joy was a big achievement for me. Just on an emotional level. Not even like as a musician, you know?

That song is funny. It think that song is pretty subversive, because what the song is actually about, I don't know if people actually take the time to try and sit with it
