Snoops gimmick/character has kept him relevant for this long. All of his music to me at least has aged pretty terribly.

    Nah chill.

Doggystyle, Blue Carpet, R &G, and his songs on the Chronic and Murder Was The Case aged well.

But, as a whole rapper, I agree he's not in the same league as Pac.

  • You're a zoomer if you think Doggystyle is Snoops only good album

  • Jan 19, 2021

Snoop was bigger until 96, that's when Pac took over but unfortunately he died the same year.

  • Jan 19, 2021

No lmao. Pac was on movies, tv shows, albums back to back, a whole coast. Tupac was miles ahead

Because back then and even before people needed to have personality. Now it's all fabricated bullshit so these kids then everything is like that.

  • A lot of older niggas agree wit this. I’m too young to comment and I feel like 90% of this thread is also too young to comment

    For real

But most users on here haven't heard his albums anyway. His output in the 00's was pretty good. His worst records were Doggfather (just a disappointing album) and his first No Limit album imo. Tha Last Meal is a personal classic tho.

Sexual Seduction was arguably his 3rd prime.

Both, of their primes were huge. Snoop doesn’t get enough credit though. Back in the early 90’s when hip hop was still teetering on the edge of mainstream, rappers were only doing like 100-200k first week. Snoop came outta nowhere pulling 800k, eclipsing pop and rock stars at the time. Pac was on another level in 95-96 though. Big album sells, #1 hits and he was one of the few rappers that could sell out arenas back then. Either way, both played a big part in the hip hop takeover

  • Snoop was like Drake in the 90s. I was reading how much of a Hollywood style machine was behind him in the liner notes of his 1998 album on No Limit
