Everything said here is spot on, imo Lupe is one of the better performers too since he maintains good stage presence and still raps well live. Like look at his concert from 2012, it's ridiculously good:

No doubt lupe. I will tell you someone who defies the rapper can’t perform live. A rapper from Toronto: Saukrates

Saukrates is the only rapper I know who plays violin. He’s in nelly furtado’’s band playing Led Zeppelin Kashmir . You can’t make this s*** up folks

Raw as anything , also one of the best vocalists in hip hop

He's like 50, and he wasn't even supposed to be there.

    It's just weird without public.

    That's crazy

I always thought an artist's performance on the stage is an indicator of their talent imo

    WESLEY THE GREAT

Yeah alot of rappers today rely on backing tracks for breathing or they can't replicate what they created in the studio.

dont blame em. they just need to be louder

    We Didnt Like That

Drake is the only one left who goes all out on every performance

Ye still has yet to have a proper tour since tlop. He did great at the Houston show

This is only the case with rappers who croon and moan a lot in their music. Saint Jhn and Swae Lee are what we call “studio singers”, but can’t replicate it live, probably because it took multiple takes in the studio to achieve the vocals in their music

    offshore performance was great

Early 2000s pop did not sound pleasing to mine or my people’s ears at all but go off

    1) How old are you?
    2) Which songs didn’t sound pleasing specifically?

  • Nov 30, 2020

People don’t understand, the ability to do live shows and performances takes a lot of talent when you take into account dance moves, singing obviously, breath control, stage placement, remembering lyrics, all that good stuff

The showmanship, the breath control, THE CAREe

The CARE about the craft has declined

    https://twitter.com/bambinoxre/status/1332908647467388937

Compare this to saint jhns or frenchs lol. The lack of Care is prevalent lately

You know what’s odd about snoop? He has an ear for artistry & musician excellence but then he is easily swayed by fame w****s & s*** like this:

There’s something so Opportunist about the aura of Corey. It’s like if Tommy Lee didn’t become a drummer.

  • Nov 30, 2020

The contrast between his performance and Saint John was mind boggling lmao and that was my first time really hearing John but it was undeniable. One guy relying heavily on aesthetic while the other is actually performing real music all while smoking a blunt in his hand and literally not missing one breath, no bells and whistles, no costumes, just good music.

I think HBO edited the show, 21 minutes seems not realistic during mos’s artistic arc in his career at that time. 😳

I’m biased because drake’s my guy,

But I’ve been to like 5, 6 of his shows and they’re incredibly put together

But he also trains like a borderline athlete prior to tour, and that correlation is 100% there.

Rappers drink and smoke every day, have virtually no fitness regimen, and as a consequence give s***ty performances but tbh I don’t blame them? If I can make 15k-100k playing half karaoke to my own songs I would too ya know.

They also don’t invest into their live show either but again, why? Rappers fans do not care about the quality of their favorite guys live show
