2011 i was 8 years old
what the f***
but isn’t the about a girl “that’s just one song of their first album” argument valid also for where is my mind?
but yeah i get you tho it’s more ppl connection ig
Most of the Pixies’ songs are about as accessible as “Where Is My Mind?”, though.
That's all definitely true but to label Pixies as "unremarkable" just off of that seems pretty disingenuous about the group and the legacy they've left. If anything them going in a significantly more pop-oriented direction compared to their contemporaries has made them stand out even more in the long run and basically made them the blueprint for most popular alt-rock of the 90s (obvious example being Nirvana).
I think he just doesn’t personally like their music very much and thinks that bands that were influenced by them (Nirvana, mclusky) did what they did better.
Dissing odd future and Vincent Gallo and sounding like a pretentious f***
But he did produce In Utero

later on but i wouldn’t say that for the first
even then, bleach is as much as about a girl is and they sure didn’t sound more pink moving onward from nevermind til they got to in utero with steve
a racist that doesn’t like the pixies and we here giving him mad attention smh
well he produced nirvana
also produced several child rapist albums for fun/"documentation" like that whitehouse guy

Power electronics is the stupidest s*** of all time. It’s not even music honestly
wow what
he's mainly known for producing jesus lizard, nirvana, failure, big black, etc. but he also produced several whitehouse albums (experimental noise band) and peter sotos is a member of whitehouse that left for some reason. he was also the first person in the us to get arrested for cheese pizza, so somehow steve albini (correct me if im wrong @ anyone) got in touch with peter sotos since they knew each other and he produced an album of which 'consisted of sound collages of spoken word samples from parents, law-enforcement officers and victims of s***crimes.' i couldn't get through it, pretty f***ed up stuff if albini knew the s*** sotos was involved with.

it's kinda funny sometimes. and i f*** with pharmakon sorta. i barely know about the genre's history, just the recent acts like lingua ignota

I don’t know if i would even classify lingua as power electronics tbh, her music and songwriting definitely transcends beyond that structure and content wise. Something like Caligula is way beyond the limited aims and core ideas of power electronics but i do understand the influence. and she actually has something important and moving to say through her music and using those sounds as a vehicle for it
