Buckleys AngelI have a feeling that they are going to follow through with getting rid of the legislative filibuster at some point. I think it would be a done deal if the senate wasn’t so tight as it is.
here’s to hoping they don’t wait until the last possible second to get rid of it.

Id be surprised if it happens before they at least have a good picture of how 2022 will go.
People keep saying this or that will cost Dems the midterm, but honestly, if Biden just keeps expanding voter protections, I could see them turning a seat or two just on turnout.

So I’m 32 and for reasons I’m not gonna go into right now, I don’t file taxes.... like ever. I “technically” don’t work.
I’ve lived on own the past few years....
Well because I don’t file taxes, and my mother knew this, she took it upon herself to file me as a dependent on her taxes.... without me knowing.... I had no idea until that first stimulus checks went out and I wasn’t eligible to get one.... I guess I’m considered an “adult dependent”..... so I haven’t gotten a single penny from any of these stimulus checks because of my mom....
But I read that adult dependents now qualify for this new stimulus, just they don’t get their own check, the extra money goes onto whoever filed them as a dependent....
Is that the case?

2019. She said she didn’t file her taxes yet this year.
But she even paid $500 to amend her taxes and take me off as a dependent in 2019 in hopes of me getting the stimulus but I never did
I don’t think I’ve ever filed taxes in my life.... and at the moment I don’t have an open bank account so I don’t even know what to do

I wonder how long this could potentially resolve the issue of child poverty with the inevitable cost of living and goods inflating. Like will this likely end the problem completely or is this more of a proverbial band-aid?

I was literally coming into this thread to post about it and the NY Times article highlighting it. Best campaign promise he's followed through on so far.
Underlines yet again that the path forward for Democrats is to hand people money because no one gives a s*** otherwise. A lot of families will remember what the Biden administration did for them, but the demographic that posts on KTT won't.
