Sounds like the lawsuit that the GOP brought today won’t hold up right?

  • I am going to find a way to glitch this and get all my student loan debt forgiven

  • Oct 9, 2022

Sounds like it might take a bit longer now because of the lawsuits

Can't see how any of the lawsuits hold up though

  • Oct 12, 2022

I saw earlier today that basically Sunday is the deadline for any lawsuits against the loan forgiveness to pause it, cause after that they’re going to start processing the applications

Dems Hold Senate, Avoid Shellacking In House

    Hello guys

So the results are in. Nevada has re-elected Catherine Cortez Masto to the Senate, giving Democrats another majority for the next 2 years.

Voters in this midterm rejected Trumpism and election denial, with Trump-endorsed candidates Dr. Oz and Donald Bolduc, as well as almost all "America First" conspiracy theorists having lost in their respective races.

The 2022 election was predicted to be a red wave comparable to President Obama’s “shellacking” in 2010, due to inflation and President Biden’s current low approval ratings. However, strong turnout as well as early and mail-in voting seems to have favored the Dems in spite of the current challenges. According to exit polls, young people voting in the midterm election may have boosted overall turnout, likely motivated by the recent Supreme Court decision to roll back abortion rights.

The exact balance of power will depend on the remaining elections. Currently there are still 20 House races being counted

    What does this mean?

    The agenda

Depending on how the House turns out, 2023 could begin a new era of divided government. So far, the united Congress has gotten a chunk of their agenda passed over the last 2 years, including trillion-dollar stimulus and infrastructure bills, a climate bill and student loan forgiveness. Remaining items, like the minimum wage increase that was scrapped last year, the social-spending bill that was put on the back burner, immigration reform, and the Child Tax Credit, which cut child poverty in half and then was unceremoniously left to expire after a year, may be more challenging to move through a Republican House. These might have to be significantly changed in order to get a vote, if they are even considered at all.

    The courts

They will however be able to appoint hundreds more judges over the next 2 years. Since 2021, President Biden has nominated over 140 federal judges, the most of any president since 1981. The Senate has so far been able to confirm 84 Biden-nominated judges, including Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. It also means the Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell can’t block any future SC appointments.

    Impeachment

It is possible that a Republican-majority House could vote to impeach the President, although it is unlikely that he would be removed in any case, since that would require approval from the Senate.

For now, there is a runoff election in Georgia next month which could deliver one more senator. A 51-seat majority would allow even more freedom for Congressional Democrats, taking power away from conservatives like Joe Manchin and preventing the absence of a single senator from holding up legislation, which has happened earlier in the year.

If Biden winds up being our best president

If they had kept the house... Maybe?

The worst thing I've ever heard anyone say about him is that he can't speak or some s*** redneck idiots say.

But I just don't see him getting much accomplished now.

Hopefully he can find a way to come through on that student debt relief

I mean in terms of charismatic and ability to speak he weak. He is the most face of the government while other people get it done president it feels like but maybe I am not giving him credit who knows. Jobs are back but inflation is kicking our asses

Because the house is so narrow, it’s likely there will be enough special elections between now and 2024 to flip it
