why would the loan relief aid midterms?
Well this was a big democratic/left platform thing that people were talking about in the last few years so the fact that something has been done would therefore make people feel more likely to vote for Dems- one would think.
Obviously you have debates about the 10k not being enough and then people saying at least its something. And then you will get people very excited about it, which... good for them.
I don't know how republicans/domestic terrorists whatever label they're adopting these days are going to spin it other than "Bidens communism loan forgiveness is unfair to blue collar folks" type s***
which is even still too heady for people that would fall for their s*** so idk.
ESPECIALLY if those people were college educated.
The problem is that a lot of the base is uneducated so if they're outside the situation (no loans) they'll believe its just handouts to people who look down on them (educated ppl)
This post is kind of all over the place but its just what came to mind reading your question.
The fact this is in all caps restores the trump unhinged feeling a little bit
just need a clarification on how this is true if supposedly our entire country was almost completely overturned when people armed solely with zipties walked into the capitol building on jan 6

It's not true but it gets the base going I guess

that's all i'm saying, it's very transparent messaging that is not only going to only appeal to like 5 people on twitter but it's absolutely ed if not blatantly alienating to like everyone else
Cop salaries about to soar given their job expectations.
https://twitter.com/CBSNews/status/1564702823262175235I can't watch this video right now, but I've seen it argued that giving the police such outrageously broad remits is stupid and makes things worse as police aren't trained to fulfil every role
By this logic it has been argued that more funding is needed for law enforcement to divide staff and increase specialist duties. That way youvget officers specially for riots, combat scenarios, parking tickets and dealing with the insane
I'm not sure I agree but whatever

He’s gonna say this and a right wing PPW will ensue
Do I need to file anything to get the debt cancelled?
As of right now, no. An application will be sent out sometime in October, but they'll prob notify you when that time comes.

i question it because it came as an executive order, which would be a big deal if it came in 2024 if biden was running for re-election, but because congress was not involved in this whatsoever it seems to me that they benefit from this way less than biden
i think a scenario in which the courts strike it down, then having to push it through congress instead, only for it to die in the senate, could bring momentum to midterm democrat turnout but that's a bit bleak if that was plan B in biden's camp and just a hypothetical

yeah i feel like you’re thinking a lot about it
whereas the average person will think
Dems + student loan forgiveness + results
all in one and maybe vote with that in mind
i’m just speculating though
