What you need is capitalism with empathy.
Set some baseline's that we agree all citizens should have:
Then simply the best ideas win. Yes people will have advantages in life if they come from money, yes it can create class imbalance but that's life.
If there is a large group of people who are have nots then a winner take all system isn't good and you need to change it. Create safety nets for people who need help.
Capitalism drives innovation it's foolish to think otherwise. Humans being as a whole have all benefited from innovation.
What isn't right is all the tax loop holes and fraud. That is on the government to track and punish.

Or, no.
You think we should have a government ran by robots...
Nah im being sarcastic
Or, no.
work hard so you don't have to rely on elected officials who you didn't vote for to save you
work hard so you don't have to rely on elected officials who you didn't vote for to save you
no one in here is advancing the idea that electoralism is the path forward lol

There is no answer that would satisfy you Will, you petulant dumbfuck. You are incapable of framing your questions in an honest way, or of engaging in critical thought on the issue.
Idk how much simpler it needs to be said. the idea is not "everyone is taken out of their homes and given new ones by the government"
it is "the people without homes or inadequate homes (IE a family of 5-6 living in a 2 bedroom house) is given adequate housing, and the profit motive is removed altogether from housing"
is this difficult for you?
You don't seem to be understanding bro.
You just said the people without homes are given "adequate" housing. Well generally people decide for themselves what adequate means. It isn't decided for them.
So if your adequate house isn't adequate enough for someone what do you do? If they want something else, somewhere else, if they want to upgrade? How do you handle that without paying for it?

I'm not writing out a manifesto for you, because as I've said, there is no answer around that will satisfy you, and there is no purpose in engaging in idealism. Questions are answered by engaging with the material conditions as they arise. The housing question is solved first, all questions that arise afterwards are engaged with as they happen, depending on the stage of development that the society is in. If you want a 10 point program go write one up yourself.
Not hard to figure out a world where excess luxury isnt a thing ppl care for lol. Nobody needs a mansion, but capitalism makes it something ppl feel they need to strive for. Sorry, won't be having those.
To people who are criticizing "communist" countries It's important to realize that there are no communist countries - None claim that they have achieved communism and in fact are working toward achieving communism. For example in POC a great leap forward toward the great purpose was when the congress removed the 2 term limit on presidency.

In other words, you have no answer to any basic questions about how your society would actually work. All you socialists do is posture and flex some moral superiority while never actually engaging in any of the criticisms

To think someone can draw up an entire plan of how a society is going to work is the most brain dead level of idealism around lmao. Complete disingenuous nonsense to engage in it. As if we can even know if those childish objections of his will.even be problems that arise
I value liberty over equality
Liberty is your employer taking advantage of you?
My family came to the US 50 years ago to get away from that s***. F*** all that. We want more than that. I've seen people come here to the states and build their way up from nothing.

From where
That's why it can be best to read this stuff in a group setting or to highlight passages you deem important and think you need to think more critically on. Capital is hard but there are companion readers to it and I like hadas theirs peoples guide to capitalism as a sort of modern day language version of it in its simplest form
I agree, reading these things in a group setting would be incredibly helpful. I would be able to discuss said readings with people, which would help with retention and also help to give a varied perspective on it. But like I said, I don't know many people with an interest in these types of ideas. Most of the people that I know, much like myself, are just regular people just trying to get by and survive. I get it because I am someone who has worked in the service industry for many years, and it can be hard to sit down and have an intellectual discussion after working a 60+ hour work week. Most people just want to relax after that. Especially if you have a family.
How does one go about meeting like minded people? How does one go about actually organizing in their community? If you don't mind me asking, what type of organizing work do you? I am not trying to call you out or anything, I am genuinely curious. You are a poster that I respect and agree with on a lot of issues.
This is Synopsis’ Infinity War/End Game Saga
Has he not been spitting facts this whole thread
Synopsis can wild out a bit but everything he’s said in this thread is correct
Liberty is your employer taking advantage of you?
I don’t agree with communist definition of taking advantage/exploitation
But even if it was it, it’s
a) consensual
b) you always have an option to work for yourself
Also, under socialism your employer is the state and no company is as dangerous as the state is

All I’m seeing is people upset they can’t get a 300k house to live in when some people don’t have anything
That’s really most of this argument boils down to
Are y’all really that selfish and uncaring that you’re concerned with how YOUR life can be better under capitalism? Not ignoring those that have been exploited or will be exploited for you to have your ridiculously specific 8 story mansion
