The switch just gets flicked from the #1 priority being to maximize profit out of the least compensation for labor you can give, to making sure those same people are taken care of
1. its not possible without a revolution (you even admit this)
2. its unjust, selfish, and is anti freedoms
See that's the thing: just because basic human needs are being met, doesn't mean that all other things just dissolve away like entertainment or any of these other things,
It's more just in terms of work that you have more of a say in the work that you do and you see more of the benefit from going to work for a large portion of your entire life on the planet
Everyone's basic needs being met =/= People can't have other things other than what's provided to them based on just general common sense
I'm talking about what becomes of luxury vehicles? High fashion? 5 star resorts, first class flights, michelin star restaurants?
I've done some research on what happens to luxury in a socialist society and I usually get the same answer.
The answer I usually get is something about luxury goods being the manifestation of capitalism and they aren't needed in a socialist world. That doesn't change the fact that me and billions of other people want them
Like how do we decide who lives in the 4000 sq ft 5 bedroom house and who lives in the 750 sq ft 1 bedroom apartment?
well presumably the living standard of billions would go up, if socialism is transitioned to successfully
and living standards of billions would fall as well.
That’s bold to assume that socialism knows what makes people happy. I don’t think the standard of living would be good in a world where you only get what has been arbitrarily deemed necessary for survival
People want more than that
I like the idea of socialism, but I have a hard time comprehending a lot of the theory, so it feels disingenuous to call myself one. I have definitely felt that there is something fundamentally wrong with capitalism for a long time now, tho.
and living standards of billions would fall as well.
thats an assertion you're making with zero evidence

besides the deadly transition. if we were say 100 years into socialism it would be a boring ass life.
I think that intrinsically I'm a socialist. I believe socialist tenets and the amount of theory that I've read (I gotta admit it's small compared to some in this sxn) leads me to believe so. But in the United States specifically, the left is nowhere near organized enough nor able to actually enact revolution.
That's why I currently see myself as a social democrat. I think the reform vs revolution dichotomy is inane, and you need both to increase class consciousness and transition (reformism) as well as to actually physically revoke bourgeoise lands and industries for the means of all (revolutionary).

not really its common sense. also how can you say billions would rise then, you have 0 evidence...
Hes a legit troll
you're a greedy socialist pig but go off. keep trolling as you always do.
fair enough
synopsis has literally called for violence to institute his political means...

A revolution is violent yes

why would you want a classless and stateless society?

bc the wealth of a society roughly correlates to the standard of living, our society has massive amounts of wealth but its highly concentrated on one end unfairly
that is to say the capitalists are exploiting workers and taking away the wealth they generate
my belief is that, if it was redistributed (in a way that makes logistical sense) effectively, standards of living would obviously go up

if your redistrubuting from the top wouldnt the people at tops SOL go down?

idk why no one else has a problem with this 😭😭

to me there are a lot of things that confuse me about your post
but my biggest confusion is that you seem to have a really shallow view of human beings NGL
like dont you think we should strive to become more intelligent and creative, unlock the secrets of the universe and all that
rather than focusing on whether we live in a regular house or a mansion
to me if my core needs are all guaranteed and I can take a vacation once in a while, etc. I'm happy as long as I can focus on elevating our civilization
if your redistrubuting from the top wouldnt the people at tops SOL go down?
yeah but the average persons SOL would go up, so the average person should be a socialist right
you could also argue focusing on SOL rather than profit will create technologies and innovations that help society across the board
like imagine if we focused on curing cancer rather than making the iPad Pro Mini 12 or whatever
