Okay, no doubt. That’s one of the biggest reasons for government imo
As a Libertarian I just want less of it.

I feel you less government is good for business but yeah at least the bare minimum to ensure an actual free market and general prosperity

This focus on "social safety nets" as a way to help workers to be able to take part in the market is more of a neoliberal view on social safety nets than a social democratic one, who view social programs as an end in itself.
In fact the term "social safety net" (which already implies the neoliberal view on social programs in its framing) was barely even used before the 90s. It was mostly used by the IMF in reference to social programs in the structural adjustment plans they imposed on Third World countries, which as we all know had very little to do with any form of social democracy

Classical liberalism has nothing to do with libertarianism tho...
And definitely not with social democracy
Social democracy was invented in Germany
Social democracy started as a current within socialism in Germany which had the first social democratic party of the world, then it became Marxist for many years, then in the period before World War 1 the gap between revolutionary social democrats represented by Karl Kautsky and reformist social democrats represented by Eduard Bernstein grew too strongly and social democracy became its own thing gradually, mostly because reformist social democrats were in favor of World War 1 while revolutionary social democrats opposed the world war
Lenin was part of the Social Democratic Party of Russia for example and advocated for emulating the German social democrats right until 1917
Most social democratic parties were explicitly socialist until the Cold War started, for example the German Social Democrats only removed anti-capitalist goals from their program in 1953
Crazy how socdems try to erase their own history
I remember first reading Lenin and he was constantly talking about social democrats had me thinking damn is Lenin a lib?

“Everything I dont like is neoliberal”
“Everything I dont like is neoliberal”
Neoliberalism is overused as a term but fam this is literally just neoliberal theory
America is too big to have a social state. It needs social states.
True there are too many people per capita
I'm a social democrat but not in a left wing way
Then why do you hate Lula
True there are too many people per capita
My country has 10M people and a big state always worked just fine.
And now there is a wave of young people that think they can 'USA' our country. They are batshit crazy.

It's really sad but funny that you didn't get that post

That’s not what I’ve been seeing.
The major problem is people don’t even know what Libertarianism actually is.. it’s frustrating because people put their own spins and twists on it
Someone explained It better on YouTube. I can’t really get into it but it’s similar in their explanation.
