Any real movement would use Hasan as a political tool no one is talking about building a line or political movement around Hasan. A serious organization should realize the role Hasan plays in a media ecosystem dominated by capitalists, and should use it to their advantage like going on his show for fundraising. He exists, and we should use his to best of our advantage being sectarian over genuinely just seems useless.

everybody "actually does things", thats exactly the productivist mindset that should be combatted. the point is what are the "things" most of these parties do? pointless charity work, sheepdogging the DNC via their cronies in the yellow unions, rote protests with a million co-signing organizations, etc. Lenin was a outlaw, Stalin was a bank robber, Trotsky was a military general. the "things" most American communists do in comparison is a joke.

if you wanna "just do things" you can always just join the DSA, they will put you to work doing all of the above all at once but at least you can parlay it into a career as a union bueracrat or flop local politician or "independent journalist"; communist parties will just expect you to do all the same s*** for free with zero chance of any mobility.

of course the actual alternative is people's war and revolution but this requires a party dedicated to upholding a revolutionary line at all times that is integrated into the masses. this doesn't exist yet but their are ways to build it.

in any western country with our current conditions yeah, better try to make strong links with immigrant communities to create a political base receptacle to our politics when the mainstream “left” and right are abandoning them than try to make an over glorified communist book club
