yea Ik but how does the profit model fit into what may or may not be happening with the Muslim organ harvesting

the organ harvesting is pure propaganda

many many organizations have been monitoring the populations of regions in china and the amount of organs that are being used in operations for many years now. none of them have found even any correlation to any of the claims. there's a lot of this outright propaganda that we are indoctrinated to consume without thinking about - many many things - and this is just one of them.

not even talking about China's status as communist here but simply China's status as a perceived enemy to Western imperialist hegemony. it's just objectively a lie and if there was any truth to it at all the "freedom and democracy" war brigade would already be in china

regardless of whether or not this is happening in china (i don't believe it is)

why do you think europeans came to africa and took black people? because white ppl thought black people were inferior?

no, because of the profit model. slavery started because of free labor, not because they were racist. the racism came later

pepl dont do s*** like that just cuz they're racist or w/e, it's for profit

because white ppl thought black people were inferior?

    yes

obviously the profit model is a huge factor but you're being reductionist by acting like race and white supremacy/eugenics played no role in European colonialism

the way you worded it makes it sound like you can either be racist or motivated by profit but thats not true, colonizers were motivated by profit and they were racist as f***. not mutually exclusive

i mean yes butracism came after
its not like they invaded america because they were racist its cause they wanted gold and money

racism came after and then fueled it as a means to maintain the cognitive dissonance, and then they had racism and profit making as two reasons to colonize

But it was a material incentive for exploitation that made Westerners develop white supremacy as an ideology and a legal framework, not the other way around.

But it was a material incentive for exploitation that made Westerners develop white supremacy as an ideology and a legal framework, not the other way around.

so you're saying white supremacy was invented afterwards as a form of justification for colonization/expansion? i agree that white supremacy developed significance as an idealogy and drastically increased in popularity after colonialism and the rise of capitalism (like the invention of the "white race" which is a fairly new concept) but i disagree that prior to 1492, the Spanish/English/Italians/French/Scandinavians etc held no notions of superiority along lines of physical characteristics. ofc European Christians felt superior to other religions and despised Muslims and Jews throughout the middle ages, but Muslims and Jews also looked different, physically. did this play no role at all in their supposed inferiority?

while racism as we know it may have been invented due to the profit model, i think that racism has grown into its own beast separate from the profit model. as in, people don't do racist s*** just because its profitable - they do it cuz they're f***ing racist, and ignorance isn't rational. im not talking about imperialism or systemic racism which is obviously motivated by profit - i just mean that you can do racist things simply due to racism itself, and not because its profitable. not all racist acts are profitable.

finally, the abolition of class doesn't inherently mean the abolition of racism. see: anti-blackness in Cuba, Han chauvinism, Great Russian chauvinism, etc. its important to see the direct link between racism and capitalism, but one shouldn't conflate the two and assume that abolishing the capitalist mode of production will also abolish racism by itself

So tribalism was always a thing, before capitalism, before feudalism and whatever.

But racism wasn't developed into an ideology and written into law before capitalism used African slavery, chattle slavery specifically. In fact the whole concept if "race" itself did not exist. Over time, colonialism's justification developed as something of a "necessary evil" to an good thing in and of itself. And various laws about race mixing and marriage etc only came to be when white indentured servants rebelled against slave owners in solidarity with African slaves.

Now when you say racism has become more than just a justification for the superexploitation of colonized people, I totally agree. There are other material purposes firstly, such as the division of workers, and the "naturalization" of capitalism as a whole, since if the faces of poverty are seen as naturally inferior, then the system is only working as it's supposed to be.

And of course, as it's developed into an ideology, it has effects outside of its purpose of part of the superstructure in maintaining the base, it becomes a beast of its own, like religion (which even can be used against the base like the Sandinistas did for example).

Concerning the point that racism etc. wouldn't go away if the material conditions that brought about its existence, I think that remains to be seen honestly, because despite the revolutionary efforts in Cuba, the USSR and wherever else, those material conditions haven't been done away with, and in the USSR specifically there were obvious material conditions that kept Russian chauvinism in place.

I wouldn't say that racism is destined to go away with the abolition of capitalism, but I do think of the abolition of capitalism as a necessary condition for racism to be done away with.

I think there's a distinction to be made between racism and tribalism, or at least white supremacy understood as an ideology and tribalism, more specifically I would call white supremacy an advanced form of tribalism.

In Ethiopia for example (or many other countries in Africa), there may be tribal animosities and even claims of superiority between different tribes, but however vile some of these tribalist beliefs and practices may get, it's not at all comparable to white supremacy. Not even just in a moral sense, but in how it came to be, what its material function was and what its impact has been.
