What are some tracks you enjoy that feature rare time signatures? Especially in genres that don't normally use them
This Stereolab track is gorgeous, electronic lounge pop in 5/4
I still don’t know what a time signature is
wow
the miseducation of material mill
I still don’t know what a time signature is
Also, learning how to count tempo is important as well. Tempo is essentially the speed limit. Time Signatures is the distance allowed between each beat. 4/4 is distance. 6/8 is distance. 3/4 also distance etc. etc.
I still don’t know what a time signature is
a time signature denotes the number of note value that one beat is equal to (numerator)
and the number of beats make up one bar (denominator)
so 4/4 time signature says 4 note values make up a beat, and 4 beats make up a bar
I still don’t know what a time signature is
I think I do and then I post Hey Ya and how it’s got 11 beats (idk Bars??) instead of something like 8 or 16….and then someone comes out and says that is incorrect and that it’s something simple like 4/4
a time signature denotes the number of note value that one beat is equal to (numerator)
and the number of beats make up one bar (denominator)
so 4/4 time signature says 4 note values make up a beat, and 4 beats make up a bar
That makes sense okay
I don’t know how to explain it but someone know how there’s 11 snare hits before the beat loops?
You can tell that the beat loop extends into where a normal beat would’ve already looped around
Like normal it’s 1, 2, 3, 4 (repeat) but this song makes it sound like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 1/2 bar (repeat) really tho u don’t notice the 1/2, it just keeps going to 11 and comes back around
I think Get This Money is 4/4 on a 16 bar loop
I think Get This Money is 4/4 on a 16 bar loop
Word I was confused the loop isn’t 4 bars
15/8
6/4

Like by the 6 or 7th snare you can tell something weird just happened lol
