music theorists bout to have a field day w this one

  • math fifty

its the other way around lmao

mh see you say this but in 3/4 time they dont count "one third" notes as a beat. they count quarter notes as a beat.

also shouldn't it be obvious to you that 3/4 has 3 beats in a measure?

I don’t know how to explain it but someone know how there’s 11 snare hits before the beat loops?

You can tell that the beat loop extends into where a normal beat would’ve already looped around

Like normal it’s 1, 2, 3, 4 (repeat) but this song makes it sound like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 1/2 bar (repeat) really tho u don’t notice the 1/2, it just keeps going to 11 and comes back around

There’s a bar of 2/4 every few measures. Making it like 11/4 would just overcomplicate things

Its dope how its a bar of 3/4 and a bar of 5/4
Which could technically add up to a normal 4/4 but the swing is so different

  • Feb 10, 2022

It’s probably the snare hitting on the 1

Yeah it’s a triplet i think but there’s a fine line between triplet and some swing.

Like think of all the triplet hi-hats in trap songs but they’re still 4/4

3/4 would mean you can count 3 beats in the sample loop

5/4 would mean you can count 5 beats which is kinda rare. A famous one of those is the mission impossible theme
Specifically the string hits in the main beginning part

I’m actually having an extremely hard time counting the beats 😅

I failed music theory in college 😅😅😅
