The UI is fine cause I can get to the search and my playlists quick cause they right at the top. That's all I need from Spotify.

If I care to get into my music on my HD I'll just throw on MusicBee cause that's where I got it saved. But that's extra as hell and slower

I'm pretty much in that situation now. I used to manage my libraries like crazy. Then I just said f*** it and made playlists on Spotify. Any update they make to help me get to my playlists faster without having to interact with any of the nonsense they try to push the better.

see if spotify had a actually good app u might not even have to do all that second part

on spotify I primarily use playlists, some more comprehensive genre-wise and others more of the moment and mixed up. I also follow artists I want to look into, and once I’m done exploring their discography and adding songs to playlists as necessary, I usually unfollow them, since they’re already represented in my library now and I won’t forget about them, at least not forever. my playlists grow and grow, and spotify continues to show me stuff I might like based on that via daily mixes, discover weekly etc, which I probably don’t look at often enough.

the only problem with building giant playlist on spotify is the lacking shuffle. wish they’d offer some shuffle calibration options. old heads will remember when apple made their shuffle less random to make it feel more random.
