Some people struggled with picture books and that is okay
Edit : not me though team subs even if I am hearing some of it is mistranslated or simplified which you can kind of tell by some lines
only time i can see the appeal of dubs is when ur multitasking and cant keep ur face on the screen the whole time
This man really just did Ali like that in ep 6

Where my dub and English subs people at
if you watch dub for anything you’re a moron
just watch it in the language it was meant to be watched in, unless you can’t read I guess?

I know someone who was complaining about the acting being bad and then said they were watching the English dub

Sometimes niggas just don't feel like reading
I'm chaotic neutral on this dub vs subs s*** cus I'll watch 3 episodes with subs then one day I'll be too lazy to read the subs and switch it to dub
Regardless tho yall not getting p****, money, or a cookie for preferring subs over dubs so hop off that high horse
I’m reading the subs as I watch it in dub
Why do you even read subs if you picked the dub anyway or you just trolling because i could swear you never had any problems with subs before

idk the emotion in the voices is kinda drowned out with the dub. like the dub is especially bad for this show. Honestly i dont even see watching sub as a chore. it's pretty easy to keep up with once u get used to it

I was just playing I watch movies and some anime in subs
I was just playing I watch movies and some anime in subs
yeah i figured
Feel like the amount of hype this show is getting is turning me off from wanting to watch it lol.
First episode looked intriguing though
I finished the show
I haven't binged anything in a while and I probably would've watched this a lot later if I didn't watch the first episode faded at my friend's house
All of the games are really entertaining, the sets look amazing, I resonated with the main characters, I like that they kinda have "anime stereotypes" with Gi-Hun being sort of a Luffy character, I did connect to them in a more personal level and I felt like each character filled their role
I mostly have nitpicks with the last few episodes like the VIPs acting was bad, I think it's because it's a Korean production and the acting was in English, but it took me out. Another thing I didn't like is how the glass shattering is what took Sae‑Byeok down, but it made sense for Gi-Hun and Sang-Woo's fight being the final climax, considering how different their perspectives are and going back to them being childhood friends. The plot with the detective also felt a little underwhelming, just because it didn't explain anything about the brother outside of the reveal.
I also enjoy the ending, while I did think a lot of the twists and turns in this show were predictable, and because it's Korean it has a lot of cheese in it, it has this charm that most American media nowadays doesn't have. It made me feel something, the world building was interesting, the direction was great, and it was executed well on many different genres: horror, drama, even dark comedy.
Overall a 5 star for me.
P.S. It's also important to mention "Gganbu" episode was amazing to me. And it wouldn't have been if it wasn't for them building these characters so well in the previous episodes. Also this episode's impact lasts until the ending.
Squid Game says something interesting about the ambiguity of morality. None of the characters in the game are “good guys” at least not the ones who chose to come back.
After all they knew it’s a survival game and others had to die for them to win. However they all come from a place of desperation, because of their life circumstances. Even as they get more violent and less morals as the games continue and they have blood on their hands, we still empathize with them because of their motives, and because they’re too far ahead to quit.
In the end when the final two have their final showdown, even though 218 was shown to become less moral as the games went on, and 456 is portrayed as one of the most moral characters, in the end it doesn’t matter because he is still filled with depression and despair for having everyone’s blood on his hands. We’re not even too mad at 001 in the end, despite him being the most evil and selfish character, because everything we liked about him is still true. And he has similar motives to the other players despite actually being the creator.
This man really just did Ali like that in ep 6
u gotta spoiler this (lol i guesss u did sorrry i guess i opened it) but yeah that episode was the peak of the series, v hard to watch
IMO the rest didnt stack up after that, like i felt the climax already happened and the police plotline basically went nowhere
