Just finished the other day. Anyone that’s seen prison break knows what I’m talking bout but sometimes the concept can really only be executed once at that level before a lot of the s*** just becomes redundant. It was cool to watch but nothing captured me like the first season
Exactly....was thinking of prison break in the back of my mind going through this season

I can't see them stretching it beyond the next season. If it's 3 seasons and done I don't mind it.

Just cause up and the prison break a***ogy is really good. I do think the 3rd game was really creative though

No it isn’t, prison break became an unwatchable joke the second they finally escaped
This ain’t that, terrible finale with the shootout plan but otherwise they had some real cool new s*** like the psychotic train man and his games in the first 2 eps

was very clear from the moment it was announced it was going to be a forced concept, it was just too profitable for netflix to let it be done when it shoulda been unfortunately

This season does have some cool ideas. I do like the main character re-entering with a tracker in his tooth, but it just fails to recapture the magic of season 1 just like Prison Break failed to recapture the magic when they have to break out of a new prison
I agree with you Prison Break did turn to s*** immediately after the first breakout season 1

I think it d be impossible to fully recapture that season 1 magic. It did pretty good up until the end tho as far as keeping the vibes and adding new stuff
It basically being a half season without a real ending to the game hurt it too
I turned off prison break after 2 or 3 eps in season 2 that s*** was awful with them on the run and backstabbing each other making life harder on themselves for no reason I couldn’t take it serious lol

I agree it's impossible but that's why I prefer 1 season mini series over shows like this when it's a really interesting concept. I did enjoy season 2 besides it being split in half though. I wonder if the hype will be there when it returns
It's been a very long time since I watched Prison Break but season 3 Scofield gets locked in some prison in either Mexico or South America and spends the whole season trying to break out. You made the right decision stopping when you did

Prison Break s2 was good I won't stand for this

Nah I don't think this is the case here. The last season primarily focused on the games and the impact it had on it characters. I feel like if you go into this season wanting the same type of focus, ur gonna be disappointed.
But, this season pivot the focus away from the games to the voting process and revolt. The actual games were the least significant part of this season. The dynamic between the characters before and after the games was the actual focus.
This season at large was about the pitfalls of democracy and the lack of class consciousness. Something they didn't really touch on last season and it was well executed

Squid Games S1/S2 reminded me of Hunger Games/Catching Fire… like obviously it won’t be 100% the same thing
just finished rewatching s1 with my gf the other day
i’ll check out s2 soon
After sitting on it I loved this season, but hate that it was split. S3 is really just S2 Pt 2.
Gi-Hun and Hwang In-Ho were phenomenally written and acted
I’m pretty sure I know how the shows gonna end just based on where things stand but it’ll be cool to see how they pull it off
