The whole return of the emperor is weak. JJ just didn’t know how to build Kylo into a satisfying villain.

I didn't have too big of a problem with that but the way they are doing it doesn't help at all.

Yea. Idk I wish the whole direction of the story was different from the jump. Something smaller and more personal. “Save the galaxy from the empire again” just isn’t very compelling.

I don’t even understand why they tinker with this scene so much

Rey should’ve been a jedi-in-training survivor of Ben Solo’s Jedi massacre. Would’ve made the story more personal to her and less of a Mary Sue. The first movie should’ve been about the lead-up to Luke/Ben’s fight.

Han and Leia should’ve been leading an unstable galactic republic during the first movie and struggling to maintain peace in the galaxy. Snoke and Hux should’ve been republic representatives/undercover 4th reich style Empire loyalists that usurp control of the republic and enforce martial law after Ben kills the Jedi.

Would’ve been way more interesting than the New Hope remake that we got.
