I think his flows and melodies got better, but content became shallow. I also enjoy that his song structures are less conventional nowadays. More interesting to listen to in ways..

no it feels like since views he been makin music to fulfill contractual obligations instead being inspired and actually wanting to make music. If he woulda stopped after Scorpion and went back into acting he would be the GOAT and it wouldn’t be a conversation

Mb I’m wrong but for me flows are how the syllables lock into the beat.. in this way, his flows have only advanced as his career has progressed

He used to disobey the beat in interesting ways and carve out cool pockets

Now he manly just rides the obvious pocket and calls it a day

The music is still just as good, even if the quality control may have lapsed a little in general. The older projects still felt more of an air "perfectionism" to them.

People are just pissy he is more of a man-child now than when he was younger

The music is still just as good, even if the quality control may have lapsed a little in general

    How are both things true

To be honest, the most striking thing I’ve noticed in his career is his gradual regression as a person (or at least that’s how the music seems). He used to be much more conscious and aware when he was younger, even if it was for lighter things like relations w/ girls. The music is still really good at times (her loss) and you can tell he still got it but his evolution as halted in subject matter. I’ll give him a slight edge over Kendrick due to the sheer versatility and moments he’s given us over the years but I hope he really takes his time to address everything with the next solo drop. For his sake honestly.

He'll address every snake who betrayed him this past year (and Rihanna) on his next one, don't you worry

thing is like he’s surrounded by massive amounts of money and most of the women he meets are shallow and the only people that are genuine with him are probably his close friends and family
