I was vaccinated (even tho I had COVID in early March)
I was a little worried I’d have a negative reaction but I didn’t
My parents, siblings, grandparents all got vaxxed, no serious reaction
But I know it does happen
So does dying of COVID ofc
I don’t think it’s stupid to be wary of a very new and less tested than normal vaccine
And I can see that COVID Is not really dangerous to many people (kids, for instance) and that people might weight the options and decide not to do it
But I also do understand herd immunity — and if you think the vaccine actually helps stem the spread of COVID, well, it’s not really a Live and let live situation is it?
Does America (the world, realty) just have to shut up and take its medicine? And if some people have negative reactions, that’s the cost of doing business?
I feel like it can at least be debated

I think a hard authoritarianism is more honest than a soft one (the current nagging strategy), and don’t take authoritarianism as a slur. It means someone’s trying to get something done.If we’re assuming the proprietors of public spaces are operating with the imprimatur of the government, even if there’s a fig leaf of “they are enforcing it themselves,” ultimately government must be willing to punish the unvaccinated who attempt to engage in normal public life
Could this work? Would people “allow it”?

but to answer your question people would be against it until we reach 95% vaccination rates and then everything goes back to normal and anti vaxxers get treated like clowns again

Jul 25, 2021I have close family that act exactly like this guy did about getting vaccinated and something like this potentially happening to them scares me a lot. I get that people’s ignorance can be frustrating but I don’t agree with taking pleasure in anyone’s death bruh. Sad s***

mandatory vaccinating is proven to do better in terms of turnout, and usually any qualms are pretty short lived
as long as its not mandatory with respect to necessary activities (i.e, not bars, gyms, movies, etc), I think people are crybabies if they complain about it...
