The music industry is one industry where the people truly choose who becomes big. Has nothing to do with destiny, its just a matter of who the people gravitate towards. That's why industry plants can still flop even if they got a major label backing them

It's proven to be straight up random who gets hits in music. Not even regular statistical models based on pure randomness are very accurate in predicting hits. They use a whole other model called "wild variation"
