This exact thing just happened with The Batman Part II. Johansson and Stan were linked to the movie for months and various roles were rumored, you didn't see Matt Reeves on Twitter saying anything about it.

The role they were testing for literally does not matter if one of them was still being casted regardless

A correct report is: "Jacob Elordi testing for Nightwing in Man of Tomorrow" and then a week passes and he is announced to be Batman

It's not false reporting if they say he is testing for Superman (which he actually did) and then he ends up with another role

Wires get crossed when it comes to characters all the time, and sometimes actors will test for a different named role to keep the secrecy of the actual character that's being casted

If Deadline reported that Adria was being considered for a role in Man of Tomorrow and then six days later she gets casted in Man of Tomorrow, clearly their source was correct even if the name of the character she gets casted as ends up different

He didn't leave room for anything, he frames it like all three of them had nothing to do with the movie

Gunn replies Adria NEVER TESTED for Maxima

If she never tested for maxima then yes that is quite literally a false statement, doesnt matter if she ends up as a different character in the movie.

It would be different scenario if

Deadline said Adria in consideration for a role in MOT and Gunn said thats bullshit...yes that's a lie

Like were they partially wrong, sure. But so what? Some source relayed that information to trades whether it was correct or not. They went to DC for comment and DC declined to comment. They’re at liberty to publish it’s their job. They help these films sometimes doing this

Media gets things wrong every day, that’s why they’re called reports. You can’t get caught up on this.

At the end of the day one of the actresses several trades reported is still in the film.
