The White House literally said they disagree with it, do not recommend or support policy changes, and distanced themselves immediately from her and said "it's her choice, it's not reflective of the government or white house in any manner". acting like the US full on backed Pelosi into this is just not true

the US even swapped out the current dumbass press sec w/ John Kirby so they could sternly chastise Pelosi w/o messing up the message that they aren't changing policy
