Usually when I vibe with a director I just end up going through their entire filmography, been putting off tarkovsky just cause not a big fan sonically of russian language but been feeling uninspired and heard this guys style is next level. Where do I get started with his filmography

i only seen Solaris but it was sick

just watch stalker and go from there. his first film is relatively good to start with as well.

weirdly enough, the first ever Tarkovsky film i watched was his student film "The Killers"

He only has 7 films so I'd recommend just going in order.

If you really only want to watch only a few then Stalker, Solaris and Mirror imo

All 7 are pretty huge classics

Just watch them all in order, starting with The Steamroller and the Violin and ending with The Sacrifice, since he doesn't even have a dozen films

A few of his films don't have much dialogue relative to their runtimes, so that might also be a plus for you since you dont care for how Russian sounds

Because i couldn’t sit through his most famous film without falling asleep, a film never felt so long to me and it has since then always stopped me from checking any of his other stuff out

I mean, i have to at one point to truly know if his work can click with me but i’m procrastinating

Actually, that one was gonna be my next Tarkovsky to try. Either that or Solaris

I started with Solaris and it turned me off Russian films for years
