O7OXOI've only seen Mirror and thought it was boring. The praise he gets is hard to overlook so I want to check out his other films. But I'm looking at the length of these other films and I'm scared it's just more long boring stuff for film school students

They are all very boring, still beautiful tho. But the fact I’ve fallen asleep during almost all his films removes him from any goat conversations

Great start OP, shorter and more accessible than his other works, but isn't diluted one bit, fantastic intro to his style
I watched his movies in chronological order and it was super rewarding, would recommend

Jul 31, 2021I’d probably say start with ivan, then go straight to solaris
Solaris is probably his worst film but has the most beautiful scenes I’ve ever seen in film, period.
Stalker and Andrei Rublev are his best films overall, with the former being the best film I’ve ever seen personally.
Mirror is his most poetic and experimental, I personally didn’t like it but can appreciate it
All I’ll say is for sure save the sacrifice til last

Shrooms (or a little lsd if that's more your style) for Rublev, Mirror and Stalker makes for a transcendent experience
