Think most was upset with how he went about deleting it.
Bu even then, sza was the one interviewing
He was definitely made fun of a lot for doing it initially
Then people made fun of him for deleting it too
Control not an actual diss and you know that
Yall will say this then say FPS was a kendrick diss at the same time
It's also funny because if you go back and watch all the interviews Drake did in late 2013 for Nothing Was the Same, all he said was that he didn't like that Kendrick had confrontational energy on Control but then saw him in real life a few weeks later and wanted to be all buddy buddy with him. All he wanted was Kendrick to keep the same energy.
He even said he understood why Kendrick did what he did and that Kendrick did what he was supposed to do but that he was never gonna back away from the smoke if it came to that.
People twist it like Drake was crying about Control when it's a crazy number of rappers who heard that song and immediately recorded DISS TRACKS aimed at Kendrick lmao. All Drake said was I know Kendrick is mad talented and I wish him more success but don't take that stance on a song to get fans and the media excited and then see me in real life and act like you didn't do that.
No other rapper said all this they just…rapped
Between Kendrick and Drake, who threw out allegations first, who dissed who first for years before the other responded?
Yall keep saying Kendrick is holier than thou when Drake is the one who started all of this
Wait do you actually believe this?
holy s***

What came out first MTG or Family Matters
Control wasn't even on some "fuck y'all" energy tho lmao. This is hip hop
Now, Like That on the other hand...
Except it was. It wasn't a diss track but any other rapper who drops a song naming rappers and saying they are coming for their fans and they're trying to murder them on wax won't be surprised if the response they get from that are a barrage of diss tracks.
Rappers are mad sensitive. It's rappers who have beefed with other rappers simply because they looked at them funny at a party
Plenty time. She’s only 62
Nothing is promised but death and taxes was the meaning of the movie lol
I agree with where you’re coming from, but OP doesn’t give a f*** about discussing art or art in general. His only existence on this forum is to put Drake above everything and everyone else.
Many of you share that trait
Yall will say this then say FPS was a kendrick diss at the same time
We don’t know what subliminal s*** was in FPS to make Kendrick take it as a diss. Don’t yall always brag about how Drake is so good with the subs that often times only the person he’s dissing will know

The whole reason Like That had so much impact is BECAUSE no one heard FPS and thought "oh wow, this is a Kendrick diss" or "wow, there are some Kendrick shots in here." Kendrick was JEALOUS. That's all. He was jealous of Cole and Drake linking up, being all buddy buddy and being more active than he was while the narrative starting flipping towards him being lazy and inactive, ESPECIALLY with Mr. Morale not being a successful or impactful album.

I remember that interview that you referring to. I saw another interview with Pusha T, and he mentioned how K dot approached him with that similar energy after Control but it's interesting how they took it differently. It almost seems contradictory but in the sense of:
1. How drake saw Kendricks behavior as contradictory, but also:
2. How Drake said he understood the intent, yet seems to take the diss personally imo from the "keep the same energy" sentiment. Some folks disagree here but it is what it is. Plus I can imagine it was kind of annoying having to address the verse during his album rollout, so some of that spilled into his comments imo

They act like they wanted him to say (in 2013) "yes, kendrick is murdering me in every measurable metric. Kendrick is better than me, but go buy my album nwts"
I don't even think C and D level artists would have said that after Control so yeah idk how they turned it into Drake Started It. He was in the middle of album promo and the early 10's media repeatedly made it a topic
Wait do you actually believe this?
holy s***
They'll also tell you Drake got personal first in the beef when Kendrick was already calling Drake a deadbeat and a bum-ass father who knows nothing about raising his son on euphoria. Kendrick allegedly called Drake and told him not to get personal but his first full diss track was probably the most personal diss track in the entire battle

The New York niggas took offense to that King of New York line as far as I could tell, but I also remember Lupe fired off on Kendrick for that verse in general.

Only birds I like are at sunrise cause the whole track taunts Kendrick for being bronze from two light skin niggas that will never make a song that makes you cry
Who haven’t made a successful conceptual album in a decade and done would argue never have

Lupe fired off cause he thought the verse was overrated which I agree
Like that verse is good but not life changing people liked the directness and hunger
