That ending battle had to have been the most anticlimactic s*** I’ve ever seen from Nolan

I'd give it another watch with subtitles. I felt the same way my first viewing but the second viewing I started noticing s*** like Neil shooting at himself in the car and felt the stakes.

So Neil was Kat’s son right? The fact that he knew too much, his pre-existing relationship with the protagonist, being British

Plus, why else would they dye Robert Pattinson’s hair blonde?

Nah, that's just a theory. The ages can't line up correctly without Protag being an old man when Neil/Max is old enough to be recruited.

Neil's just a dude. He even recommends not helping Kat lol

Oh I didn’t know that was a theory I just assumed that from watching the movie lol

And yeah that’s a good point about the ages lining up

It's a pretty common theory, lots of people feel that way. And if it adds something to the movie for them, more power to them.

I just don't see how it could feasibly work logistically.

The lack of character development in the protagonist is on purpose. Throughout the movie he is going through the motions of a bigger plan set by himself in the future. The character developpment of the protaganist is in a future we don't get to see, but get to experience through the unfolding of the actions in the movie...

TENET is compelling and engaging on rewatch however the quality of the cinema can drastically improve the experience.

But there’s also a lot of character development through action. I mean we learn a lot about the protag in the first 8 minutes.

The lack of character development or emotion is done on purpose. It is a staple of Nolan’s movies and what makes them so good.

The Dark Knight, Interstellar, and Dunkirk both get me close to tears every time I watch them.

I'll give you Interstellar. Murphey and her father had a good relationship.

Nolan reading this post like “oh thank God” lmao

Other directors must be so jealous seeing comments like this “the poor dialogue and lack of depth are just part of the plan!”
