There’s a market for shock value horror. If you don’t like over the top slasher’s, then don’t watch it.
I won’t be just sharing my thoughts. Hope you enjoy it!
just finished the first film and im crine
as a practical effects demo, it's really good, but god damn does everything else suck major ass. the screenplay was clearly written in an hour, and u can tell just by the characterization, since every character that gets introduced is somehow more dumber than the last person. there are 5 year olds that have more situational awareness than every dumb motherfucker in this film. dumb f***s made me want to team-up with the clown. also the cinematography is so garbage, as it's overly digital and the horrid lighting just gives it a nasty look. Art the Clown is pre funny tho and I would like to have a beer and a pizza with him.
can't believe the second film is almost 2.5 hours long. i bet it's gonna have the same problems as the first film

Doing this tonight as well
Is the third one grosser than the second?
By the sounds of it, it doesn’t go above but doesn’t take it down any notches either. Sounds like in terms of meanness, it doesn’t have anything like the bedroom kill last time.
Although I just saw a clip from the movie where someone’s balls and d\*\*\* get cut in 2 with a chainsaw so

I always thought the terrible acting was part of the charm and seemed purposeful.
With how much work went into the production value I couldn't imagine it being that overlooked to the point we got this unless it was intentional.
If you can't stomach gore just say that lol.
Terrifier 3 definitely feels like a middle chapter in a trilogy. It’s entertaining, gory as hell, and has some interesting things going on. The pacing is off in comparison to the second one. Sometimes it’s great and sometimes it’s definitely not. The kills are really good in this one. Nothing exceeds the level of the bedroom kill in the second one but some are very close to it.
Once again Lauren LaVera is a strong lead. Sienna is a character I like following and I am excited to see how her characters journey come to a close in the third. David Howard Thornton’s performance as Art the Clown continues to be so so good. That performance carried quite a bit of this one. The little brother honestly felt like an afterthought. The actor wasn’t great and it felt like his character was there to just bring the actor back. The other cast members are fine but not remarkable.
Damien Leone is establishing a lore that is interesting to follow. It’s something that feels original and more layers are added to it in this movie. Not all my questions were answered and I’m honestly left with more. Nonetheless, it’s admirable to see a director chart his own path in the business and not going through a major studio to make a franchise this successful.

This was better, the hamfisted lore is lame as f*** though. Crazy how much better a movie can be when you have someone who knows how to use a camera, edit, color grade, better actors, better music, etc

Whoever told you that lied.
Whoever told you that lied.
about it being less mean/doesn't go further than 2? thats been kinda my general feel of the reviews and impressions since it debuted but yeah i've seen some people say the opposite just less.
do u think its meaner & goes further than 2 thats exciting (or scary depending on if im in the mood for this tomorrow when i go see it)

I agree with this, lauren lavera is so good and sienna is quickly becoming one of my favorite final girls ever. david howard thornton does so much to give art personality without ever saying a word. learning more about the lore was nice too. I’d say my biggest complaint was probably that it felt rushed leading into the finale, I felt like they could have put a little more in there before that.

Part of me feels like there’s a directors cut for sure
Some things definitely got cut out

I really enjoyed the pacing of 2. Some people thought it was a slog but not me.
I think, compared to most Horror sequels, even if this doesn’t live up to 2, it’s still going pretty consistent

imo for sure yeah, it does
It's also just more of an actual movie overall which obviously helps a lot, just kinda s***s the bed sprinting to the finish line at the end there
This movie had "slasher movie kills" instead of just the senseless violence imo so that's why I feel like people are saying it's less crazy than it really is, but that's just my personal opinion. The presentation was less matter of fact/dry and actually had some form of cinematic quality

Word for word what I said last night when I left from seeing it. I liked it better than 2 because it felt more like a movie where 2 felt kinda like a kill compilation.
