There, that’s a much better statement than your previous one.

I was just getting hyped last night that Chelsea Cutler comes out in January and The 1975 comes in February but then they delayed the album this morning

Listening to their first album right now to get the sadness gone

Also, by the way, the album has been delayed and the 2/21 release date has been taken off of Apple Music.

As of now I think it still is gonna drop that day because they didnt move the shows in the UK that start the week it's supposed to come out, just the EU shows the following month to October but it does seem likely I'm just trying to be hopefulI guess lmao

It’s a weird situation. Jamie said they need the time during the moved tour to promote the album but most promotion these days happen before an album comes out I feel like.

There was also this statement from Dirty Hit which kind of hints at a delay:

I wish they would just straight out tell us if their was a delay. They did this same crap with ‘Online’

I feel like they need to be more open and honest with fans. Plus I feel like the constantly reschedule tours, something that other bands maybe do once in their career but they’ve already done it multiple times in their short career thus far. I feel like they need to work on better time management or less touring because it feels like they do constantly tour.

Also, for how much they do tour there needs to be more variety in setlists between tours and shows. They have too many hits, they should have some rotating spots in their setlist like Linkin Park used to do.

they do rotate 2-3 songs in the middle of the setlist when its a full show not a festival type show, I saw them twice in a weekend and got Paris, Medicine, Frail State of Mind live debut, She Way Out and Depth(unreleased song) but the rest is very choreographed and routine and I wish was switched up a little more, like checking the setlist of the show you saw Im jealous you got to hear Loving Someone live lmao I havent in the three shows Ive been too

and yeah its such a weird situation with this delay in my opinion is they were overbooked in a short period of time and just needed a more free time in their schedule to rest or maybe it is to work on the album, but the statement does seem so weird

Yeah, unfornstely they played a festival setlist at this show. It was a mini festival with only 6 acts which sucks because I wanted a longer setlist. I’m sure a lot of older songs got canned just due to the shorter setlist. Even though usually at festivals you just play your most popular songs but I can’t complain too much.

I feel like if they come back I won’t see them again because their setlist needs a lot of work but who knows. I think it might depend on how much I like the new album. I have a feeling it will be better than their last.

The delay is very weird, I just wish they came straight out and told us if the album was getting delayed or not. Don’t leave us questioning everything lol.

I was sad last night that they didn’t play UGH! which I was sure they would play. Oh well, the first time I saw them had a good setlist. I would have just canned playing a 7 minute instrumental in favor of two other songs from the first time I saw them but otherwise that’s how you make a good setlist.

Edit: They were here in April apparently and I skipped the show and they didn’t play UGh then either. Wasn’t UGH a single? Why don’t they like it anymore? Also they played You back in April and now I’m kicking myself for not going.......

Here is the setlist from the first time I saw them: setlist.fm/setlist/the-1975/2017/wamu-theater-seattle-wa-33e674a1.html

Can the two instrumentals (they aren’t bad songs but there are a waste of setlist), add 3-4 other songs and that first time I saw them would have been a nearly flawless setlist.

They played Loving Someone both times I saw them.

I just wish I saw them more when they were touring for ILWYS

They could have easily been my favorite live band if I saw them multiple times back then.

  • Dec 11, 2019

Listening to ILWYS right now and I’m sad that I’ll never get to hear Paris live

  • Dec 11, 2019

Now listening to LP3, also re-listened to it yesterday. I’ll be able to see if it’s grown on me at all.

Do you think Jesus Christ America is going to be on LP4? If so they are 3/3. That’s one of the best songs they’ve ever made IMO

saw them on the love me tour and 3 nights on the iliwys tour

love me tour was goat tbh they played songs off iliwys before release but majority s/t and ep stuff

albeit their first arena shows (dec 2016?) were probably the best setlist now that i think about it

    hearing anobrain and undo live

  • Dec 11, 2019

the blackpool philharmonic orchestra show was probably the favourite time i’ve seen them aside from the first o2 show tho.

the venue and orchestra was crazy and they played iliwys title track for the first time
    man was transcending

    hope notes doesn’t get delayed

weird i was way more excited for notes even before abior released. the way matty described it a-kin to the streets, p sure they recorded with mike at some point this year too

praying noacf still manifests into this: “There are a few lyrics. There are ideas,” he promises, “but there’s a bunch of music. It’s deconstructed. It’s quite English. We’re always going back to a time in our life and referencing certain bits of music from there, and I think this is referencing a lot of UK garage and the feeling of driving on the M25 at night.”
