Having No Head at #14
Me & You at #1
Don't know what to think about that list
The only downsides to this album other than a few tracks I don’t like are:
1. Length (I can handle it but it probably shouldn’t be this long)
2 Alot of the instrumentals/short tracks like The End, Streaming, and Bagsy should have been cut to streamline the album a bit. They also fee out of place on the tracklist
3. As seen in my ranking above the singles were pretty much the best tracks so it leaves a tiny bit more to be desired for the album as a whole. I do enjoy most of the non-singles, however.
4. Lyrically this album probably is inferior to their first two albums. (Might be inferior lyrically to ABIIOR but a lot of lyrical themes in that album piss me off so I can’t make that judgement call.)

I still have Having No Head a 9/10 which means I enjoy the track a lot. The only downsides to it are the fact I’m not huge on instrumental tracks and the fact the first half can be hard to get into on some listens.
If the entirety of Having No Head sounded like the second half of the track then it’s probably be a 10/10 and higher on the list.
It's a 1975 album alright. A couple fantastic songs I'll return to over and over (Me & You, If You're Too Shy), a handful of other really good songs, and a bunch of stuff I don't want to hear again, sequenced poorly without being edited down.
Gonna add my favorites to a playlist of 1975 songs I love and probably not listen to this album in full again, but I'm glad I heard it once just for the good stuff.
If you like What Should I Say, check out Bonobo, I hear some strong influence on the beat:
Watch this from 2:11:30 onward
This video came out 2 days before the album released. It’s hillarious. Also funny to hear ARTV who got a review copy early describe the album to the other 3
The one negative thing most critics have said about this album that I actually agree with is how bloated this album is.
If this album was 10-15 songs it could be my AOTY and for sure top 5 (assuming the kept the right songs)
But now it sits at #11 with chances to fall.
I like the album but the filler can get annoying.
I need them to release a 10 song album next time.
Or honestly if you could release a 22 song album with no filler like the new Nav album or a long album like the 51 minute Boston Manor album with 0 bad songs.

Nothing against you man
But you gotta stop acting like music is NBA East conference standings
First you made a ranking of all the songs WITH ratings
And now you say it could've been your AOTY but it "sits at #11 with chances of falling"
If you listen to this album trying to rate everything you hear you stop appreciating the music
Aight, next task. Create my top 20 or top 30 The 1975 songs.
again
But if it makes you happy I guess you do you
okay Imma need someone with Apple Music to RIP the "behind the album" from Deluxe Edition!
The preview seems hilarious

I disagree with your philosophy here. Anyway, take out that sentence because that’s not the point. The point is this album could have been great but it’s just good because of all the filler.
Also, I keep a running track of every project I listen to from 20XX for that year and have a ranking system. It’s just something I like to do.

I’ve been trying to work on this for weeks now. Last time I updated my list was after ILIWYS. So it’s way outdated.
I’m to the point where I’m already skipping Then Because She Goes and Nothing Revealed every album listen. I’ve been skipping the intro since day 0. I assume sometime I’ll get to skipping the useless instrumentals like The End, Streaming, and Bagsy.

"useless instrumentals"
