Production is dope and I'm a massive fan of all these Alchemist collab projects... but I gotta be honest.. these rappers do little for me.

Real
One of my favorite Al projects
these beats are all so good
I’m not usually a take merchant but would It be crazy to say alch sent earl a mid pack? 🫢

Vin Skully, 27 Braids, Mac Deuce are so bad to me
Like those beats have zero colour or any sort of bump/soul. They sound like the white album cover lol

Like u said earl def picked them but I just listened to the projects with roc/armand hammer/boldy & voir dire is really a cut below tbh pains me to say it

Damn I had the same feeling about the cover but I figured it was a personal thing. F***!

Track 4 (I think it’s called Carriere or some s*** like that) is so f***ing good

We went over this a lot when it first dropped but I think it’s the nature of the short ass songs and in and out nature of it all
On Voir Doir it feels like they just caught gold with a loop, Earl wrote to it, they recorded over the beat and that was it. Like the songs weren’t touched at all after that
On the Roc, Larry June, Armand Hammer, Mike/Wiki albums, the songs are really well developed with structure, filters, build ups, all the bells & whistles that longer songs need. Feels like there’s detail and extra sauce on top
I wish Earl got the full Alch collab deal but it seems they both were just feeling brief. Like there isn’t even a song with an intro, B section or a beat that changes remotely besides the drums coming in later on the first track

thats true tho many of alch's best beats are basically deviations on 1 loop
i like the idea of letting earl shine & just bar out on some rap stuff but it woulda been cool if he were challenged a bit more . he was on easy mode on there
it does feel a bit wild even being critical cus these are all like dream collabs . hope i dont get construed as "ungrateful" or w.e
Every 8th bar of Stained Glass sounds like a bloody scab that’s also a portal into another galaxy

beat goes so hard. "um..because of the art"

that departed sample at the end is just perfect.
I still think Alchemist is an underrated producer.
I couldn't fathom liking music, hip hop in particular, and not accepting/thinking this guy is the best to ever do it. the best.
Wiki the best white rapper of all time he absolutely bodied that tape. Outshined mike on every song

Wiki is the brains and MIKE is the soul, I like how a***ytical WIKI is and lyrically he’s sharper than MIKE.
But MIKE doesn’t need to grab your attention with bars (sometimes he don’t mind snapping lyrically) but MIKE is so soulful and emotional he doesn’t really need to get all that lyrical and he still bodies the track
