Please tell me this is on HBO MAX
I really want to do as you asked but I don’t wanna lie to you like our ex GF’s did. So It’s not on HBO Max.
You loved it?
Absolutely, it’s the kind of movie people complain can’t and doesn’t get made anymore. It has bits of Auto Focus, Taxi Driver, First Reformed, Bring Out the Dead; classic trancendental structure – it f***ing slapped dude, had me shook to my core
And without a doubt the best poker scenes since Casino Royale, maybe the best depiction since California Split

Nice. I’m glad it’s not a cliche action flick (trailer had me wondering if Paul switched his style a little)

Just as glacially paced as First Reformed was, and there’s purposefully no action. Reminded me of Blue Caprice, the Beltway sniper movie

Word I love s*** like that. Where the world is based in an action setting but there’s a lack of action.
Cus he’s even holding a gun in some the pictures so it gives of the illusion of action lol

I just watched the trailer for the first time and its so f***ing misleading it’s crazy

Lol feel me? if I wasn’t a big fan of Paul’s work I’d think this was some action flick.
Kinda like A most violent year, I think that trailer was pretty misleading too, even the title of the flick haha.

oh s*** i’m hyped now
This was really dope. I enjoyed it a lot. For sure slow, but that’s expected from Paul. Easier to get into than First Reformed.
Trailer definitely is misleading af
I feel bad for those who aren’t familiar with Paul’s work and is expecting a high action gambling type movie

This is all Paul man
This could’ve been good if it had better dialogue and better acting.
It felt like all of Haddish’s scenes were done in one take and the director gave her no notes

Yea she’s terrible in this. Only thing I disliked about the film.
And the dialogue could of been touched up.

I def agree that Haddish was wooden in a lot of scenes but Isaac and Sheridan were doing some excellent naturalistic work imo, especially Sheridan

Yeah Isaac was great. Sheridan’s character was just weird overall for me.
for that character to do what he did at the end? with like no hints towards how he really was feeling was so flat. He basically was “like whatever” for a good chunk of scenes before
it was good but not as good as first reformed IMO
like some have said, tiffany haddish scenes felt unnecessary. that whole relationship aspect just didnt work for me
also barry keoghan instead of tye sheridan wouldve hit
overall still a very good movie
i didnt know it was about him being at abu ghraib at all but when they show the prison i immediately recognized it. im glad that a movie like this talks about it
