It's his most enjoyable song in like 13 years probably lol. Idk what you're on but that was the general consensus. Fun track from Em, i didn't love Tobey but it's still miles ahead of the s*** we've heard him do in the last 13 years. Revival is a f***ing terrible album all the way around.
I hated mmlp 2 but all the bonus tracks are better than Houdini. Ever heard of wicked ways or dont front!? Revival had arose, castle and tragic endings all better than houdini lol
tobey is actually alright considering i was expecting a lot worse from the opening line being the corniest thing i've ever heard. it doesn't feel like an eminem album track though, he should have let it release on that lyrical lemonade album because it makes way more sense being on that. maybe if em recorded a longer verse with an actual drum drop it'd feel like his song, but as is it's just a glorified feature.
I think it was supposed to be on the lyrical lemonade album and Em took it for himself and gave Cole Doomsday Pt. 2 for the album
more like Kamikaze lol
Tobey beat is some s*** NF would rap over, Revival matches that level of corn

we was talmbout Houdini tho
Eminem just squandered a legendary collaboration between him & Kendrick with that garbage ass song
I agree. I expected more between those two. Disappointed as hell. Likes that the best they could do with each other smh

I have yet to see anybody hate Houdini besides a few people on here. I've seen nothing but praise on social media and in real life. I haven't seen people in real life talk about an Eminem song as much as they talk about Houdini in 10+ years.
Eminem is an easy target and recycling the same tired critiques of his music no matter what he does is beyond exhausting.

Houdini was corny content wise but em was rapping smooth on that and the beat was passable
Hook is awful tho

Hook is catchy and one of the things people irl seem to love lol.
Houdini is the closest he's sounded to his 2002 self in 15+ years. It's so different from all the other songs people complain about, yet people target it with the same critcisms (it basically is the opposite of the choppy, overly technical, ear grating songs on Revival yet this thread is saying it's worse than revival).
Just crazy. No matter what he does people will complain.
They tell him to go back to his old self, he comes as close as you could reasonably expect him to 25 years later and people still b**** and moan.
Name 1 song better ill wait
While tape is Skylar gray mid pack
y'all gonna hate me but I'll die on this hill
So Far is an awesome song lmao. I hated it at first too but the instrumental somehow fits and Eminem is genuinely himself on that and corny as f*** and the MMLP callbacks are nice

The flow, the lyrics and the hook are complete garbage. I guess what can you expect from a 50 year old that doesnt leave his house. He also has the art work paying homage to the three spiderman for tobey.... Doesnt he know that drake already did that with cole lol

So Far is angry old guy yelling at the clouds. I do like the MMLP callbacks and the flow is pretty good but that's about it.

I just can’t stand the original song it sampled. so to have em singing it is a no from me
And I can’t speak about all that. I don’t want him to go back to his old self I just want him to make something good (to me)
i always fw So Far

Songs like So far is why the greatest rapper of all time title is being stripped away from em. Hes hurting his discography and legacy with songs like those

man i understand why ppl dont like So Far but all u gotta do is point at revival to make ur argument lol

I dont want him to go back to the old him either but he could try something new and different.. hes not evolving anymore. If you aint evolving or trying some new experimental s*** then he should just retire lol. Or he should make another concept album like relapse. Idk im growing tired of em. Its been a good run but man its just getting old with this content about how good he raps and s***

yeah I agree but that's also why I like it, like I get that that's a lot of his modern music but on this one it works. idk

feels like a modern old folksy Michigan song. my biggest gripe w it is u can tell the broken flow was beginning to show its ugly face. but the lyrical content is fun and engaging and its a fun ridable song
