Revival's pretty bad, but I genuinely think MMLP2 is actually much worse overall.
Disagree
Revival is lightyears worse
And I’d go back to the best on MMLP2 over almost everything on Kamikaze and MTBMB
Kamikaze is pretty good!

MMLP2 is nowhere near as bad
houdini was great for a lead single and tobey is a grower with Babytron and big sean dropping solid verses. even if this end ups being his best album I think some ppl like OP will still discredit it based on preconceived opinions about em's modern music so it don't really matter
also Em's singles are almost always my least favorite tracks on the albums, so if we go by that
MMLP2 is a giant mixed bag. There are some tracks on there that are genuinely good, and some tracks that sound like bad leftovers from Recovery
It’s like Em was too busy trying to please his old fans and his new fans that he gained after Recovery

the production and hooks on that album ruined it. take a****** for example: great verses but s*** is borderline unlistenable

the fact that survival - legacy - a****** are back to back is nuts

I feel like MMLP2 has this weird revisionist history kinda thing going on over the past couple years, it has to be like younger fans who have fond memories of that rollout or who have no inkling of how big MMLP1 was at the time.
Like, stuff like Revival, MTBMB etc are crap, but MMLP2 is a whole other level to me because you're declaring out the gate that this is a sequel to one of the biggest and most influential albums of that era.
And that's what you deliver.
It's like if you go to some high end restaurant you're a fan of and the chef is like "yo today I'm making a follow up to that 3 Michelin star wagyu steak with the peanut drizzle and wasabi garnish that you loved last time, get ready" and then he drops a bowl of McDonald's slop down in front of you and says bon apetit
The disappointment absolutely factors into how crap an album is imo

you do have a point with nostalgia for the era
i was in middle school and he dropped berzerk and rap god and survival the whole era was so fun for me
i also was super excited when he dropped not afraid and i was yung as s***
but mmlp2 is still better than everything that came after it
