climate change is contributed to by the entire world though
you can look the numbers up breh, there's 1% of people (through various companies and industries) that make up like 80-90% of most emission
like if every normal that was a litterer or gas guzzler driver stopped, we'd still not really put a dent into things

True but it's wealthier countries pushing a standard of living full of more more more. More energy, more pollution, etc.
And they often do it by sucking resources from poorer countries.

Just 100 companies are responsible for about 3/4 of the emissions in the world
its wild how 1% of the world is gonna drive the rest of us to a living hell lol
just like living out a movie, but you can't stop it

It ain't that lopsided, but it's pretty f***ing close lol

Top 10% of emitters (the global wealthy on a per capita basis) contribute ten times as much to global emissions as the poorest 10%.”
Specifically, “the global richest 10% contribute about 36–45% of global GHG greenhouse gas emissions, while the world’s poorest 10% contribute around 3–5%.” As much as “46 percent of developing country CO2 emissions in 2010 and 41% in 2015 were from export production to developed countries,” indicating that accounting for climate emissions should be on a consumption rather than production basis. Half of all aviation emissions stem from the wealthiest 1 percent.
Ain’t the ice caps melting? Just take the extra water from there and put it inside the river tf
Don't get me wrong, I ain't about abdicating personal responsibility. Supply and demand is real. Creating grassroots change in your community is real. Holding corporations accountable is also real.
I just can't stand people who preach all about the facts, for instance how the strong majority of agricultural pollution comes from animal ag specifically, and then they say f*** you I won't even reduce my animal consumption let alone go vegan.
Everyone wants things to change, nobody wanna actually change their behaviors tho lol
There will soon be wars many over water
What's interesting however, to be objective: The Iraqi Lake has been filling up. It's located in the heart of the River but I'm unsure of why that's happening
Capitalism is a reality people refuse to accept
what do you think is an alternative? I/m not disagreeing, but ppl on twitter that say this never really offer another lane
Id be willing to watch or read whatever if you just wanna link something

We're seeing weather, climate, and geological phenomenon that we've never seen before lol
Just this year it rained on Greenland's ice sheet for the first time that we know of. Weird s*** happening brace yourselves everyone it's gonna be a bumpy ride
It's almost like someone should make a collapse thread to consolidate relevant news articles and current events

Governments need to restrict free markets that have proven to not have our own survival at any point near the top of their priority list, and instead move into commanding economies and shaping them into sustainable structures so that we can rectify our treatment if the planet before returning control to the people
The point of governments is that they meet the needs of the people, and it’s becoming more and more clear we need more than ever before
Yeah, been vegan for 5+ years now
Nice. What’s been the biggest difference or challenge in pre/post vegan lifestyle as far as socializing with other people goes for you? I think that’s an aspect that hams people up no pun intended

Nah u completely right I actually said earlier inna post last week here that it might be the biggest reason why people don't go vegan more easily.
Honestly something it's made me do is become the organizer/host for more parties and things like that, because then I can be more in control of the food and drink. And so I use it as an opportunity to introduce my friends and family to vegan food the best way I can.
It helps that my wife is even more outgoing and social than me. Between the two of us we throw a lot of shindigs lol
