yes the people fighting colorism or sexism or any bigotry should be outcasted not the ones perpetuating toxic behavior/mindsets in the communities
thank u for posting this contradictory post as u have confirmed that ur either a troll or just a clown
No you should be against colorism, sexism or bigotry
You should have the right to have s***and enter into a relationsship with anyone you want to
You shouldn't have a second identity. You should only identify as black.
This too
Why do white people get to go to space and s*** and we get the same coming of age in the hood story
Facts but tbh man, the black community kinda doesn’t support other stories. It’s getting better now
Lol what I say?
You on the money that writing matters it cant feel forced or unnatrual or "LOOK WE GOT A DARK SKIN LOVE ROMANCE"
I'm not lol this was a central talking point of black activists in america in the 60's
Differences like gender, class, religion, etc. were all put aside to unite black people as a collective.

Black Media has bigger issues. We have the Boule running our circuits along with Stephen's (Django) house niggros etc fulfilling the demands of their Zaddy.
We also have a deep rooted issue with Freemasonry and false religions, all of this takes in account of the 'colorism' we're dealing with today.
You root out the original cause of the issues, watch the tree die. IT needs to burn to its ashes.
Idk how to word this properly but I feel like Hollywood is giving us "black representation" but not too black when it comes to women. Almost as if dark women aren't able to be attractive to audiences. Recently it feels like Zendaya and Tessa Thompson are being forced down our throats, getting multiple roles. Lupita the only dark woman I can think of that gets lead roles like that
I'm all for the "we Black" line of thinking, but there's a reason why Black people "separate" themselves within our community. Black LGBTQ learned to "separate" themselves because heterosexual Black people be homophobic af and hardly even welcome them into our community.
I don't agree that they should separate themselves. But I'm not gonna sit here and act like they don't do that out of a need for safety.
Look here's your situation if you gay and black: you make up about 0.5% of the population and will literally never get s*** done for black gays if you concentrate your cause around it. You have to let go of some of your priorities and lose yourself in a larger identity to alleviate some of your problems or you'll never get s*** done.
Identifying as a black LGBT, not budging an inch on it and constantly focusing on the entirety of your issues instead of only the black cause is extremely counterproductive and will lead you absolutely nowhere. Same thing for other identities.

I mean it's easy to say all this when you ain't dealing with constant hate and exclusion from your own race simply because of your sexuality

Ngl I haven’t seen Tessa in anything new in a minute, and Zendaya deff gettin pushed cuz she light skin but she also a Disney girl. Chick in Spider-Man and Dune.
I think Issa Rae gets leading roles, her movies just are t good.
I still agree but go watch the new 007. Lashana Lynch smokes that.
Also the thread about only being attracted to a certain race got locked, but niggas were in there attacking me because I said lightskin is recognized as its own race separate from black and white in my country, which it is
That's how things work in South Africa. Ignorant af for some of yall to come at me for some s*** that endured from the Apartheid era
Every movie that's made for black people I watch, if there's a dark skin nigga that's the lead. He has to have a light skin gf. All the black women have to be light skin. Dark skin woman is a nagging b****. S*** was rampant in the 90s and early 2000s: see Martin.
And if you a light skin dude, you're the good guy or the guy the woman dreams about. Dark skin nigga is just a nefarious evil doer: see Diary of a Mad Black Woman.
Only time dark skin people get some decent treatment is some s*** about being straight from Africa, you can't just be a normal dark skin dude. Dark skins have Tyrese. That's it.
In America at least, s*** bothers me
While I agree with ya bro...
It's also an allegory of the 12 tribes and how Judah is always the lead tribe. Judah can be represented as King David, a dark skinned man who famously had a children with Bathsheba. She was most likely light skinned thus what brought forth King Solomon. Solomon was 'ivory' or the same skin tone of Blake Griffin.
Dark skinned men are the typical leads because it represents Judah. Light skin characters particularly the B-role Man represent Israel or Ephraim. The second kingdom.
The Lion and the Rhino (Unicorn)
This also represents our Diaspora as a whole.
You say more racist s*** weekly than I ever have
That’s cap b. You show your ass everyday.
!!! Good ass post.
I’ll be honest as someone who’s lost a parent to the trade its disheartening to see all our major shows glorifying the trade and influencing the next generation. Like damn we love watching ourselves selling poison to our own community…like BMF used to hold people up at gunpoint on corners to force them to try the product to become addicts, tearing up hella families and niggas still scream free big Meech and he getting a show…just ass backwards
Yep, a lot of black peoples don’t really know the impact that s*** had on us.
I remember my uncle telling me stories of how neighborhoods completely changed and s*** sounded like something out of a horror movie.
Colorism, self hate, the treatment of our women, the crime, the celebration of thuggin, the destruction we do to ourselves and the stereotypes that persist all date back to the crack era
Colorism existed before then of course, but the form it takes on today stems from that time
You on the money that writing matters it cant feel forced or unnatrual or "LOOK WE GOT A DARK SKIN LOVE ROMANCE"
Oh yea, story comes first ALWAYS. Niggas be working backwards and that’s why the s*** be turning out surface level and lacking any depth
I mean it's easy to say all this when you ain't dealing with constant hate and exclusion from your own race simply because of your sexuality
See this is the type of unhelpful s*** that's often said and that's why people with multiple identities should be ostracized from the rest of the community
You don't have a bad and good option here that you can choose from. You have a bad and a worse option, deal with it.
ktt is full of weak coons and non-black people so a srs discussion about this is difficult to be had on here @op
there's this historian, Charles Woods invested in black cinema that talks about stereotypes on a youtube channel dedicated to black american content (yt = reelblack)
here are examples

Reel Black is the best resource in the world for black cinema.
Everything changed during the crack era
Black folks went from the most United community of people and divided ourselves, all the problems that existed before were exacerbated
Whole family and group structure fell apart, then came the envy, greed, anger and murder
Now we divided amongst all these different groups without realizing that we all black first
We’re you alive back then? How can you say black people were the most United?
Ngl I haven’t seen Tessa in anything new in a minute, and Zendaya deff gettin pushed cuz she light skin but she also a Disney girl. Chick in Spider-Man and Dune.

I think I saw recent posters for something Tessa is in
Was going to mention Zoe Kravitz getting that series so Issa came to mind too. But neither of them get leading film roles like that
For guys we got Daniel Kaluuya, Denzel's son and I'm sure there's more I can't think of rn. It's like darker men are desirable, but for women, Hollywood doesn't have enough faith to put them in leading roles

A lot of black famailies were already torn before crack… crack definitely amplified it but it wasn’t the sole reason
We’re you alive back then? How can you say black people were the most United?
You always gotta be a contrarian
Nah, let's not talk about how all the stories about white gangsters make them look loyal tough and raw and black gangs look like evil
animalistic thugs
White gangster films are ok but gangster rap is evil
Its always been that way
I think I saw recent posters for something Tessa is in

Zoe’s series got canceled too while Issa s*** still going but I agree.
We got Daniel, Denzels son, Idris Elba, Damson from Snowfall, Yahya, etc. does Lakeith count as well?
You always gotta be a contrarian
No, I’m just not one to spread false information about high is more harmful. To act like black people were just suddenly more united back then is just disingenuous. Yes pre-segregation and pre crack we were amongst each other all the time cause we had to be. We called each other brother and sister way more frequently. But to act like the black family wasn’t torn a lot back then I’d just straight up false. Way more domestic violence and child abuse. Plenty of cheating. Gangs still existed. Instead of trying to act like one thing (crack) led to where we are today is just dumb.
