well white people just aren't abandoning it because it's helpful to them. so when you say people should abandon race as a concept, it's only gonna be the people who don't benefit from it while the people who do keep it.

literally advocating for black people to separate while uniting white people

how did you interpret my statement into the literal opposite of what I said

Man I saw that video about the mavericks regarding kanye vs drake and when Jason Kidd said Drake cause he’s lightskin, he REALLY meant that s***.

Old heads are super colorist and it rubbed off on our generation. I said some things about my dark skin peers that were really unfortunate in high school and middle school that I cringe at now cause I’m light brown skin. But i didn’t know any better cause making fun of people being darker than you was the norm, this was in detroit btw, the blackest city in America.

But Martin wasn't made recently so what OP want me to do about a TV series that started when I was born? Current content is shifting to have us in more of a variety of roles but it always comes down to what you SUPPORT

    and give attention @op

    this is not true
the market is controlled and creates needs
our last resort is pulling the our support but the people who want those movies out def (the industry that keeps greenlighting them ) do it based on their own biases as well

movies made for black people specifically are milking the fact they are black

Sometimes I just watch a movie by a black team of creators because I don't want someone f***ing things up.

Just watch All Eyez on Me to see what happens when this occurs. Movie f***in blows.

That’s how it is in every minority group unfortunately.

For us Mexicans, it’s the same thing. I’m light skin so people always saying I’m not Mexican enough cus I’m not dark or I don’t speak Spanish so I’m white

It’s just dumb how we do that to ourselves. We are Mexican by blood. We are black by blood. A different shade of Mexican or black is still Mexican or black. No matter if it’s light or dark

“And every black "you're not black enough"
Is a white "you're all the same"

Lol why would bro mind immediately go to that tho? That’s weird s***🤣 S*** didn’t have a joke tone came off as an ignorant oldhead being ignorant to a fault.

Thats like Brad Stevens saying Eminem cause he’s white if someone asked him Eminem vs Kanye. Just weird s*** that doesn’t help.

Y'all not going to act like there has been more variation and shifting to a variety of actors when many of us can name major dark skinned actors on some of our favorite tv shows and movies of all time

I simply refuse that you will not acknowledge that

I mean not really. I wouldn't call Drake son black. It looks like they gave him braids to try to make him pass more 🥴

I simply refuse that you will not acknowledge that

If we acknowledge that there are some prominent dark skin leads that don't need to get carried by a light skin love interest-

Will you acknowledge that it's a common trend that media tends to lean into?
